Need "My Points" help

OK-I've done this for a while and had about 11,000 points. I just spent a bunch though getting a coupon for the rainforest cafe.

What else do you "spend" your points on? What are the best ways to earn points?

Now, for the big question-how long does it take to get the certificates once you order them.

Hey Esmerelda,

I spent my last bunch of points on a Gas card. It is helpful if you are driving to Disney, never mind the fact that gas is $1.73 a gallon here at home! I think it took about 3 weeks to get my card.

I check often and take advantage of the Simple Points section to earn points. I'm not a big online shopper, but when I do, I'm sure to go thru mypoints.

I always use my points for webcertificate. These are basically CASH in the form of a credit card numer (not that you have to have a credit card, but they issue you a MC number for use). You can use the number online to purchase stuff, or you can order a hard card (we did for $6) and the $$ will keep dropping into it as you turn in more points. We used this card to pay for Del's birthday dinner last December at Epcot.

Right now we are working on getting a Rainforest Cafe gift card for January. Since I don't buy things online, it seems to be taking me forever, but we'll get there eventually. :wink:

I use mine for a webcertificate as well - getting ready to get the regular card so I can BUY disney dollars at the Disney Store!!!

Snickerdoodle -- do you buy ANYTHING through the internet?? Take a look at the list of stores that are members of mypoints - and if you have to buy something from them - do it via the web instead of calling them (catalog) or visiting the store - thats how I get most of my points.

For example - I see a new book I really want -- I get it from Barnes and Noble's website through MyPoints instead of driving to BN and buying it - usually takes an extra few days - but I get the points!!

I hope this won't be to confusing :? Can you get a webcertificate, than go to Disneystore online an order a gift card with this, so I could take it to the Disney store and use it? I don't want to pay to get a hard card if I don't have to. And can you use the gift card to buy anything including tickets for WDW?

Web certificates are just for the web - and since my Disneystore will not take gift cards for Disney Dollars - I had to go the hard card route. I do not think you can take a webcertificate and use it at TDS. I think you have to go gift card or Webcertificate hard card to do it.

no idea on the gift card to tickets.
