My DH came home in oct. and told us that we will be going to WDW from 5/16-5/23. Now, he booked it through a travel agent. With all talks about codes and discount I don't know if the price is right!!!

roundtrip airfare from boston
5 day park hopper pass
rent a car
boardwalk villa (suite)

total $3800.00 for me, dh, ds (6)

just wondering if the boardwalk hotal and suite are the same price per night. hope someone out there can help. :theWave:

Hi rygrmom,

Nice to have you here with us!

First to answer your question about the villas, the Boardwalk Villas are attached to the Boardwalk Inn, with a single reception area for checking in. Here is a link to good information on Deb Wills' site, AllEarsNet:

info: http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/faq_bwv.htm

photos and maps: http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/g_bwv.htm

The second map listed on her site gives you a clear idea of how things are set up.

You'll be staying in a one-bedroom villa? Checking rates on AllEarsNet, it looks as if a one-bedroom villa would cost $435/night (including tax), if there were no discounts. So $3,800 for a 7-night trip sounds pretty good for everything you have listed.

One thing I must mention, even though I've not stayed at the Boardwalk, is that it is a GREAT location -- you can grab a boat, or walk to, both Epcot and the Studios. And you'll have all kinds of amazing restaurants surrounding you.

Hope you're having fun planning your trip!

Hi rygrmom,

I think you will LOVE a week at the Boardwalk Villas. The Boardwalk is laid out with the Inn on one side (standard hotel rooms) and the DVC Villas on the other side. The villas are my favorite, especially the one bedroom and up units. They have a full kitchen, two bathroom sink areas - one in the Master Bedroom including a nice big Jacuzzi tub, and another next to a walk in shower. The Master bedroom has a King sized bed, and there is a pullout couch in the livingroom. The unit also has a washer and dryer, which can come in SO handy, and save you on bringing extra clothes. I haven't stayed at the Boardwalk Villas yet, but look forward to our first stay there this July! We have a one bedroom unit reserved, and we can't wait.

As Sandi pointed out, the location is fantastic, and both Epcot and MGM are either a boat ride or walk away. You also have easy access to both the Swan/Dolphin hotels and the Yacht and Beach club resorts. (And all their restaurants) (Beaches and Cream at BC is GREAT!)

As to price, I think you did pretty well. Packages typically save you time as opposed to a lot of money, but from my calculations, it looks like you are paying around 25% off rank rate, which isn't too shabby! :) The Villas can be hard to get, because Disney Vacaction Club (DVC) members take most of the units. (I own DVC, and I'm using my membership to stay there)

I don't have unit pictures from the Boardwalk (yet!), but I do have a sideshow of pictures taken at the main pool: Luna Park Pool (http://tagrel.com/Tours/DVC/BWVPool/BWVPoolSlideShow.htm)

Also, Your Magical Journeys has some wonderful pictures of the resort, and you can find them here: Boardwalk Villas (http://www.yourmagicaljourneys.com/Resorts/bwv.htm) and here: Boardwalk Inn (http://www.yourmagicaljourneys.com/Resorts/bwi.htm) - Since they are attached the ammenities of one is available to both.

Have a GREAT time! We'd love to hear all about it when you return home! :mickey:

hi again rygrmom,

Boy, I'd forgotten about all the stuff in the 1-bedroom villas. Tag's list has me wishing we could swing the $$ for one on our next trip.

The official DVC site also has a lot of info, including diagrams of the room layouts:
