Never been to the House of Mouse at the end of April but about to make a last minute trip the last week (April 24 - 28). How busy are the parks? I'm really spoiled by generally going during the off season. Reason I ask is because it was hard to get a room at the Mousesavers rates.
Thanks, Peggy Sue

First off Welcome Peggy Sue! It has been quite a few years since we went end of April first of May but it was very manageable during the day. There may be Grad Nights during your visit & if that is the case MK will close early about 7p.

Welcome, Peggy Sue, I'm glad you found us. Your trip will be here before you know it. You'll have a wonderful time no matter what the crowds are like.
Have a great trip!

Another welcome Peggy!
So glad you came in. Most books, as MargaretJ said - agree the end of April - first of May is a good time to go for lower crowds. With Easter this week I would think most schools will be done with spring break at the end of this week.
You will have a great time! Look forward to talking Disney with you! :mickey:

I will be in WDW April 29 - May 3 and am hoping for low crowds. I have never been on these exact dates before so your guess is as good as mine. I have been over the weekend of May 3 - May 6 in 2002 and it was alot more crowded then I am used to but it wasn't unbearable. (I am just spoiled in that I usually go in the WAY off season.) I would just advise you to stay out of the Magic Kingdom on Saturday during the day if possible. It wasn't as bad during the evening but from about 11:00 - 4:00 it was pretty packed. I do remember waiting in line for lunch over 35 minutes at Columbia Harbour House on that Saturday in May and we ended up eating standing up because there were no available tables. Even with the bigger crowds we had a front row spot for the Share A Dream Come True parde getting there only about 5 minutes before parade time and at 20 minutes for Splash Mountain at about 5:00 in the evening was our longest wait of the trip. Just remember to use those fast passes wisely and wish for the best!
Welcome to the site!

Welcome Peggy. I have been wondering the same thing as we will be there then. It looks like Spring Break will be over so that should help some. I did notice the MK is closing early a couple of nights, probably grad nights.
No matter what the crowds, you will have a great time.

The one thing I'd caution you on is school trips will be starting in that time frame (I bet), so watch out for field trips!

Welcome, Peggy Sue! :minnie:
Margaret, Stinkerbelle, and Bookwood have given you some good tips. It's been sounding like crowds are up from last year, but if you use Fastpass well, you should be fine. Plus the weather should be wonderful!
Hope you're having fun counting down to your trip.

Been there twice around that time, and going again this year so I'm hoping for no crowds! It has been lovely weather and the crowds were very managable. MK can get crowded in the afternoon, as usual, so we drag ourselves out for one early entry to do MK, but otherwise a great time to go.
