The darn Travel Channel has convinced me - a person who sticks to the amusement parks ONLY while at WDW - to give Blizzard Beach a whirl. I read here that everyone rushes into the water parks in the a.m. to stake out their spot and avoild crowds. I am wondering how bad it will be if we arrive in the afternoon? No spots? No tubes? Huge crowds? We want to go to Future World at Epcot 1st then head to Blizzard Beach after lunch. Is this totally unacceptable? Factor in that we want to do this on a Saturday (May 1) and I am really nervous that it will be overcrowded. Anyone have any experience with arriving in the afternoon?

I have gotten to BB at 12noon and been turned away b/c the park was at capacity!! More than once! If you are staying at a Disney resort, they will let you in, but it will be jammed. Forget riding the slides or getting 2 or 3 chairs next to each other. You MIGHT be ok on May 1st, but I wouldnt take a chance. I would do the BB early and go to Epcot later. Of couse, you never know, it could be empty, but given a Saturday in the Spring, I would say the odds are against you. Good luck though:-) Let us know how it goes!@

Not sure about that early in May but whenever we have gone in late May early June BB is absolutely packed by 12noon. I hope you give it a try though as I love BB, it has great slides. The Family Raft Ride is the best. Good luck.

We have also been turned away from Blizzard Beach around noon because it was full. In Passport guide, it talks about going late in the afternoon - 2 or 3 hours before the park closes. If you want to do Epcot first then this may work for you.
I say give it a try - if it is too crowded then you could try TL or go back to Epcot!
Have a great time!

God to Blizzard Beach early and hit Future world later. On a Saturday you'll have the "local" folks there also not just the tourists. By May 1st it's going to be plenty hot. I fyou really want to go late go around 2-3 in the afternoon. Lots of sunkissed people will be leaving by then.
While your there be sure to ride the family "Teamboat Springs" slide you can take the "lift" up (single rider line usually goes pretty fast) it's a really hoot. (they'll take your picture at the bottom if you want them too)

Definitely later in the afternoon. You'll have no problem filling your time during the day at Epcot.
Just.....take.....your......time........! :sun:

I agree with going to BB in the morning and heading to Future World in the afternoon. In fact, we found that even at Christmas (a really busy time of year), Future World was packed in the morning, but eased up a lot after World Showcase opened. THe only exception is riding TT and MS. The FP were pretty much taken - or the next time slot was in the evening.
If you really want to ride MS and TT AND if you have your own car and are really adventurous, then I would go to EMH at Epcot at 8am, ride the rides for an hour and then head over to BB for the morning. It doesn't sound too relaxing, buts its not so bad if you are driving.

Thanks for the responses. I still prefer BB in the evening and Epcot in the a.m., but don't want to risk being turned away. We've changed the day to Friday to avoid the local crowds and will do BB in the a.m. and Epcot in the P.M.
Thanks again!
