Ok, you're here at Disney. And first thing's first! So, what are you going to do first? :minnie:

hi Cheri,
The answer to this good question depends on which park we're at.
MK - If we're at the Magic Kingdom for extra-early super magic hour, then we're headed for the Tomorrowland Speedway. I hate standing in line for that stupid ride! The devil designed the queue area so that Fastpass can never be used there and loving parents have to stand for hours in the hot sun to indulge their little snookums' obessesion with driving slow cars around a boring track.
If it's not an early entry day, Big Thunder Mountain is first.
Epcot - Mission:SPACE has to be first.
AK - Safari! Gotta see the critters.
Studios - Pin shopping. :D

After spending time enjoying the resort, we love to ride on the monorail and approach the MK! Nothing gives the thrill like the first sight of the castle each trip!!

I don't have anything that I always do first on my trip (except get off the plane and check into my hotel!), but like Sandy I have things that I do first in each park.
If I have park-hoppers instead of an AP, my first day is usually a travel day, so I go to Downtown Disney for some shopping and relaxing.
At MK, I usually go to Tomorrowland first and hit my favorite attractions there.
At Epcot, I typically run for Test Track or Mission: Space first.
At MGM, I do NOTHING till I have ridden Star Tours.
At AK, I usually head to Tusker House for a nice, relaxing breakfast. I love the food at Tusker House.

Okay! We have this huge routine. We check into the hotel, if the room is ready we head there and unpack, then we explore the hotel before we head to our first park (usually EPCOT). But I'm always prepared for it not to be. If it isn't we head to our first park!
At EPCOT we must always do Spaceship Earth first if we are there in the late morning!
I love thinking about being there.

Usually we always go to MK first. If it is not a busy time of year we first ride the train and get off at Frontierland and use our FP for either BTM or SM. If we wait for the first morning in the parks we will rush to Space Mountain and ride the attractions in tomorrowland. I personally love Fantasyland but usually avoid them when the teenagers go along.

Okay, I know it sounds boring and mundane, but I really do like to unpack first thing. Once everything is neat and organized then I can really start to enjoy things. Then I just like to lounge around the hotel, swim if it's warm enough, then have nice meal at one of the resort resturants. This probably sounds weird but I prefer to start the park portion of my vacation at rope drop. It just isn't the same if I show up for that first day somewhere in the middle.

It depends on the time of day we arrive. Before 2PM the MK to do POC & HM mainly and pick up any others we can. After 2 PM settle in our resort room if it's available and clean up a bit. Then head over to Epcot for a late lunch and stroll World Showcase. Since our first day at WDW also includes our air travel our day actually starts about 3 AM. If our stamina holds up we'll watch Illuminations then head back to the resort for a VERY sound sleep :)

OK, if you're boring, mundane, or weird then so am I!! Your plan sounds exactly like what we plan to do!!! We are going to unpack and settle first, take a look around the resort, and then probably spend some time riding the monorail until our dinner at Chef Mickey's. I, like you, want to start my vacation at rope drop! :D

We usually try to arrive early in the morning, check into our resort and head out to catch the EE at whatever park is EE'd that day. THis year will be different- we will be arriving mid afternoon, checking in and enjoying the pool at ASMo, maybe hitting the discount stores or DD if people get tired of enjoying the resort ammenties. A round of mini-golf may be on my agenda also, we'll have to see.

I'm with both of you... JennyAnne your plan is the same as mine! We are flying in, picking up our rental, checking in, checking out the hotel (since we've never been there), then having dinner at Chef Mickey's.
Good Plan :) Although since we're staying at a "home away from home" we might also go in search of an offsite grocery store after dinner to stock up.

Count me in the boring and mundane group as well! We seem to check in late afternoon, and will have dinner in the food court, mama will unpack and arrange the room, children will swim and a grocery stop will be made. The order depends on the arrival time! Last couple times Gramps took the kids to the pool while ma and pa did the groceries. When we flew we arrived noonish and after accomplishing the above tasks we headed to Epcot after supper to get my Dad's pass and did Spaceship Earth. I like everything settled so we can start first thing the next day.

I always take an early a.m. flight and am usually checked in and on a bus in time to have lunch at one of the parks. Mostly we go to Magic Kingdom first. After I get my giant Disneyfied rice kripsy treat on Main St. the first thing that HAS to be done is a picture in front of the Partners statue. First (and last) attraction is Peter Pan. - :tink: Gotta stock up on the pixie dust early in the trip.
On the times we have gone to other parks on arrival day we have a nice time but spend alot of time giving each other sideways glances until someone breaks down and says "we'd be having so much more fun if we were at MK right now" or "This is OK and all, but I'm not at Disney till I see the castle." At that point we hop on a bus and head to the MK where we take a pic with the partners and ride :tink: Pan.
