Avatar not showing

Can you tell me why my avatar that I selected in my profile is not showing up???

Hi Terri -

Checked the database and it shows that you have no avatar selected. Which one did you select, or did you add a link of your own? You have to make sure the one you want is selected by marking the circle under the desired picture, and then hitting the Select Avatar button. If that doesn't work, just let me know which picture you like and I'll set it up for you.

I selected tinkerbell1 from the drop down list that is found on the my account page - is that not the right place to look at?

Ahhh, that explains it. Actually, the correct way to select an avatar is to select the PROFILE button at the top of this page, scroll to the bottom and look for : Select Avatar from gallery: and choose the SHOW GALLERY button. Then select the circle under your desired Avatar picture, and then hit the 'SELECT AVATAR' button.

That should do it! Sorry about the confusion. There are two programs working here - the Community Software (called PostNuke) and the forum software. By selecting Profile at the top of any forum page, you are setting up your FORUM avatar.

OK, the FAQ (from the menu on the LEFT side of the page) has been updated with the correct procedure for adding an avatar to your DISCUSSION FORUM account:

How do I add an Avatar (the picture under my member name) to my account?

This can actually be confusing because there are TWO places where a user can select an avatar. Under MY ACCOUNT (from the menu on the left side of the screen) you can select your overall 'site wide' avatar. Problem is - that is NOT used for the Discussion Forums! Silly Software!

The CORRECT way to choose a Discussion Forum Avatar is through the PROFILE button at the top of each forum page. After you select PROFILE, scroll all the way to the bottom of the displayed screen, and you will see:

Select Avatar from gallery: and a button: SHOW GALLERY. Now a page full of Avatar pictures is displayed. Choose the desired Avatar by clicking on the small circle below the desired picture. Then scroll to the bottom and select the button marked SELECT AVATAR. This should select the desired avatar and you should be all set!
