I don't know if this has already been posted anywhere, but I just spoke with a CM and she told me that free dining is being offered from Aug. 30th through Sept. 27th this year. Has anyone heard this yet? I'm pretty disappointed with the dates since we were planning on going the week before. My oldest dd is in middle school and doesn't want to miss school, so we're limited to August, and now the free dining isn't being offered until later!!

Hi there,

Currently, Disney has not announced any free dining offers for the general public. Disney offered free dining as a "come back" promotion for those who were staying at a Disney resort during 2007's free dining promotion. They were offered free dining when they return September 2008 as long as it was booked before they checked out of their resort.

So, we are keeping our eyes and ears open. :) Last year, they released the promotion mid-late April, so we will see if they offer it again this year. That would be terrific!

I called disney back to inquire about it and she said the same thing. She said the CM probably thought that was the free dining that disney was offering this year. Initially I was so disappointed as I was looking forward to having it again this year, now I can hope that they will offer it.

Let's keep those fingers crossed! It would be wonderful if it was something that you and your family could take advantage of! :)

We would love to have free dining if there's any chance of it in September (fingers crossed!). Can you fill me in on any restrictions to the deal in past years? Thanks!

Biggest restrictions is you have to pay regular season rates.

If I remember, Sept is value season for Pop. So it can be a great deal. But the DDP has changed, not so good as last year, but free is free!

There really aren't too many restrictions, of course as Topaz mentioned you do pay the regular rate for the resort, but when you look at what the difference would be to pay for all your meals, it is definitely worth it.
There are a few restaurants that require two credits for table service because they are typically higher priced. I am booking my ADRs now for the end of August because the most popular ones of course go quickly!! One CM made me laugh because she said I don't know what I feel like eating for dinner tonight, let alone six months from now!!!

I was kinda hoping (never hurts to hope) that the free dining plan would be offered in Oct.
