So - - - (probably asking the question that has been asked a dozen times) how early can you make the reservations for the Illuminations Cruise and do you do it through the main Disney reservations number??

Hey LisaS!
Well, I didn't know the answer. So it could not have been asked too many times - thanks for asking the question!
Here is what I found at Deb Wills Site:
Deb Wills info (http://allearsnet.com/btp/illum.htm)
Reservations for all cruises are made by calling 407 WDW-PLAY, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., 90 days in advance. (Be sure to say Hello to Boat Captains Zeke and Dave and let them know you are from Deb's site on the Internet!) You must provide a credit card to hold the reservation. You must cancel at least 24 hours in advance or your card will be charged.

Thanks, BetsyAnn for taking the time to look it up!! I really appreciate your help. It seems from some posts I have read, that it is a tough reservation to get - and you have to call right on time. I'd be interested to know if this is the case!

Hi Lisa!
Yes, from what I have read, this is the case as there are a limited number of boats. However, very often (if you are flexible on which day of your trip you can go) you will see postings on other boards about people who have a boat reserved and have space for two or four additional people. It really cuts down on the cost when you can fill up a boat and it can be a nice way to meet people. I actually found a person offering two spots for our vacation time, but I don't necessarily want to be locked into going a certain night. Since it's DH's first time, I am trying to "play it by ear" as much as possible.
Good luck getting a ressie!! :D I've heard it's a great way to see Illuminations!

The reservations can be hard to get during busy seasons, but that isn't always the case. I know that in September, when it was a low season, there were nights when not all the boats were booked.
I'd try to call right on the opening day of reservations marker just in case.
