Most people have assumed this is will be a DVC resort, but will it?
Site plans make no mention of DVC.
Owner/Developer is lists as Walt Disney World Co. and Walt Disney Imagineering. Could it be Disney has simply decided there is enough of rental market for suites, that they don't need to sells these? Or will DVC eventually 'buy' the property from WDW?
While looking the site plans for the treehouses I came across the site plan for the Disney's Contemporary Suites.
The pdf is over over 4 meg, but I've done screen captures of what I think are the most interesting sections. If engineering documents excite you, feel free to download the pdf.
The site looking north.

Over sized closeups of the building, where you can see the layout of some of the rooms. Looking East. (The lake would be above the graphic.)

OoooOOOOOoooo! You know me, engineering drawings do excite me! Nice captures but is there a link for the pdf? :D :D

While the project is called "Disney Contemporary Suites", it is also called a "Proposed DVC Resort".

Oops I forgot the link.

And a big thank you to Dave for hosting the images.
The site most likely is going to be DVC, but it is interesting that more recent documents show WDW Co. as the owner.
One of the subcontraction shows JMSRM Inc. as the owner of Disney's Contemporary Suites. JMSRM Inc. is a fictious name for Disney Vacation Development.

I can't wait to see some of the elevation views--this is a very interesting building/complex for sure! Thanks for the links!
And I really like the Mickey head pool, looks like this is going to be fun!

I was trying to tell by the drawing if the tower isn't actually 'solid'.
Because of the 'cup' effect of the building, I would think they'd want a way for wind to pass through the structure rather than be trapped in the 'cup' and put extra stress on the building.
Does it look to anyone else, like there are gaps between the sides and front of the building?

These plans are completely consistent with the renderings that were leaked onto the net about 1 or 2 years ago, which showed an open C-shape tower with courtyard and pool in the center, and a sky bridge connecting it to the A-frame at the 4th floor (Grand Canyon Concourse level).
Looking at these plans, I can tell you that this tower is most definitely an open C-shape. Unfortunately, only the first-floor plans are shown, so there is no detail on the size and shape of all of the actual units, but some units can be seen on either side, and some details about the grounds are evident. These ground-level units will probably be in great demand; they are not all that close to the pool, so noise will not be as much of a problem as at some other resorts.
Looking at Robin's blowup of the pool area, one can see several details:
At the top of Robin's blow-up is a circular area with an irregular paved area in front of it. The circular area has an FFE (Finished Floor Elevation) number, indicating a closed structure, so my guess is that it will be a pool bar, as can be seen at many WDW resorts.
The big L-shape in the middle is the main pool. It does appear to be shaped to allow a large Mickey-head to be painted on the bottom. A large curly water slide is shown off the right ear.
The kidney-shaped piece just above the main pool is apparently a kiddie pool.
The Mickey head to the right of the kiddie pool is not an enclosed structure. It may be a pattern in the pavement, but there are some smaller circles inside it that might be support posts for an awning. My guess is that it's a covered pavilion, sort of like the awnings along the walkways between Swan and Dolphin, where parents can sit in the shade and watch their kids in the Kiddie pool.
Slightly below the water slide is a small indentation with steps that can only be a hot tub.
Just below the hot tub, a circular area appears to be another covered spot for folks to relax in the shade with a nice Bay Lake view.
I can see more details when I look at the whole PDF and blow up the grading plan (page 2).
The ground floor units are 2br units. There are 3 on the north side and 6 on the south side. The unit at the end of the south wing actually has furnishing details on the drawing; the master BR has either a queen or king bed, private bath that looks like it has both a tub and stand-up shower, and private patio. The second BR has 2 doubles or 2 queens, a private patio, and connects to the second bath. The kitchen is a corner unit, and the LR has two sofas, one of which is a pull-out. There is also a chair that appears to pull out to a bed, similar to those in the ASMU family suites. There is a small closet in the entry area, and another small space with double folding doors that could be laundry machines; it's in the right spot, on the other side of one of the kitchen walls.
The public areas in the middle of the C are not well-defined in this plan, since it's a grounds plan and not a building plan, but I can see a large circular atrium with drop-off area outside. Leading away from the atrium to both north and south are curving central corridors. There are lots of undefined rooms on both corridors that could be anything from backstage areas to lounges to luggage storage. A few rooms have some detail; I see bathrooms and possibly an arcade just north of the atrium, on the inner side of the C, then a stairwell. Opposite the stairwell is a room that could be a TV lounge, then an elevator lobby, some more undefined areas, and then the 3 2br units. On the end of the north arm lf the C there is a large room with big glass windows looking toward Bay Lake that could be a fitness center.
To the south of the atrium I see plenty of undefined spaces. I also see what appears to be a snack bar on the inside of the C, then the south elevator lobby. From the elevator lobby to the end of the C, the south leg consists of 6 2br units.
In the center of the C I see lots of empty courtyard. There are shuffleboard courts on the north side.
Outside of the C to the north I see two tennis courts. To the south I see mostly empty landscaped area, a walkway to the Contemporary Marina, and some support columns for the sky bridge. I'm intrigued by the fact that the support posts are not in pairs - they appear to be single columns, probably centered on the sky bridge. This will make the structure pretty cool to look at.
I can't wait to see floor plans of the 4th level, and especially the top level, which is supposed to have a signature restaurant of the same quality as California Grill.

I originally wondered if this would be a set of hot tubs, but now I wonder if it might end up as one of the ground fountains that kids love to run through. It would make a nice decorative area on the pavement and give little ones a fun water area to play in.

I wonder if the sky bridge will be designed to complement the monorail track.

I didn't think of fountains, but now that you mention it, the Mickey head area probably IS some kiddie fountains.
