This question may have been answered before, just let me know where to look.
I have some photos of my nieces that are terrific except for the black outline shadows caused by the flash. Do you have any suggested Photoshop methods for minimizing these?

the easiest way is to clone the area next to it. But if you have a busy background, there is nothing you can do to get rid of it.
As a proponent of High ISO, I suggest you turn off the flash and boost the ISO. If you need to have the flash on, make sure the person is as far away from the background as possible.

Thanks for the tip on how to minimize getting these, Kelly. Doesn't help when it's my sister-in-law behind the camera. But it will help me, I'll practice that.
I did some playing with cloning and blurring and lightening and stuff and got a result that I thought was okay. I'm kind of glad there's no fancy feature that I didn't know about to make it easy. What am I saying? I'd love it to be easy! It was a pain in the butt and I would only go through this much trouble for very special photos!
