Is anyone interested in participating in card game or some other competitive online game in a tournament. The winner getting a medal for his/her sig for example. Any thoughts? And what game? Personally I like Euchre, good game for tourneys. If there is interest I'll be more than happy to organize it.

I don't know how tourney's work, but they sound like fun. I've had a ton of fun learning euchre this week and relearning Dominoes. Just remember I don't play if I can't win! ;)

I'm really good at losing games. You need someone to lose or there can't be a winner.

Keep us posted and I'll see if I can find a game to play. (I do play euchre as long as the computer counts for me. I've totally forgotten how to do that.)

I have no idea what this euchre you speak of is - but I am really good at losing at games too! May I join you Shelly? Sounds like a fun thing to do!

I would love to lose too! I have a good chance since I have no idea what the game euchre is. Will have to google it.

I did find an online game of euchre one time. It was a great refresher for my "skills". I also play cribbage.

Seems I don't have that competitive edge you need to play these games. I play for the social aspect. No one ever wants to be my partner....so I'll take Betsy Ann up on her offer of a partner if we play!!!

Oooo, if we can find a 4th person who is great a losing we can have a contest to see who is the best loser. (Betsy Ann, Topaz, me and the 4th....any takers--Jean???) lol

I just realized I was mixing up euchre and cribbage on the counting part. Euchre you just have to remember what suit is trump!

I won a gold medal on the 4th of July a few years ago for losing the most at the all the games we played - a few were cards games.

I've no idea what euchre is, nor have I ever played cribbage. But if you want a real loser, I'm game! My feelings will not be hurt if you prefer to wait for another offer

I too am lousy at card games, but am more than willing to join in if the rules are explained and I am not working that evening.

Glad to hear there is interest, I'll see if we can get this running. Until then, read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euchre for details about the game. And look at http://www.pogo.com/games/euchre for a place to PLAY the game.

Unless there's opinions to do otherwise, we'd play conventional Euchre with the only variation being Stick the Dealer.

I will have to check out the link, but boy am I glad that others do not know about euchre either. I have never heard of it and figured I was a loser without playing since I had no idea what it is....
Why not!

I have never played nor seen this game being played. Is it difficult to learn?

Hey Zac, perhaps we could stick to conventional Euchre for the first tourney and then add any variations.

I've never heard of Stick the Dealer of course I could have been doing it all along and didn't know it. rofl

Off to check pogo, I have a login over there but I don't pay to play so I'm not sure if I can get to the game or not.

Well lets see what is this Euchre you speak of :D I have it on my Hoyle Card Games Game but that one has NEVER been clicked!

Sounds like fun to try to learn something new. I'm really good at losing too so can we have the best of the worst bracket too?

I have played Euchre with Harvey's family in Southern Illinois. It's fun because the hands go quickly. It is sort of like mini-bridge (but don't panic, the bidding is much easier).

They thought I was a pretty good player for a beginner once I intentionally played my high trump under my partner's high trump so he'd know where it was. We kicked butt ;)

Do Pogo games allow kibbitzers? That's my favorite way to "play" cards.

Zac, I too do not know how to play this game but would like to join.

I think this is turning more into the Tag Losing Tourney.
Tag/Tag Team with the most games lost wins!! rofl

Euchre isn't all that difficult to learn....and it's very popular here in Michigan - I think everyone who plays cards at all plays euchre.

So, when are we gonna do this thing, and how's it gonna work?
