After last nights chat about food at Disney, my mind has been thinking NONSTOP about eating at Disney.

We'd really like to try some new places this year and I'd love to hear your recommendations.

We've already been to LeCellier, Teppanyaki, Lotus Blossom, Boma(both breakfast and dinner), Chef Mickey's(dinner), 1900 Park Fare(dinner), Ohana's, Cape May (dinner), Prime Time, Sci Fi, Pizzafari, Donalds Breakfastasaurus, Rainforest, Crystal Palace (lunch) and ESPN club.

We like to plan one big meal a day, where would you suggest we try?

I suggest you head over for a relaxing meal at Trail's End Buffeteria. The food there is great and it is a great value. It is also fun to wander around the petting zoo after dinner. Or head to the Campfire sing a long with Chip and Dale and marshmellows!

Just like we mentioned last night Marrakesh is also wonderful! The Garden Grill at The Land has some of the freshest food I've had at Disney. Wolfgang Puck Express at DD has the BEST cheese pizza I've ever put in my mouth! Whispering Canyon has a great skillet and the bottomless milkshakes.

It is so fun to plan!

Wow you mentioned some great ones but how about Beaches & Cream or Cinderella's Castle for lunch or dinner. Now I know you have 2 boys, of course that younger one might like the Princesses, but lunch or dinner in the Castle is quite the treat.

If you are willing to part with the dollars, Jiko is my new favorite. It is very special. Excuse me, I'm having swirl eyes as I'm drawn back in time to savor....

We have tried and really liked the Garden Grill (we did late lunch and had the characters to ourselves-during spring break even), The castle (not Cindy Breakfast), yummy food. I would recommend the restraunt in Italy (only if you want to be insulted by the wait staff), food was ok (I'm used to american italian I'm sure) but the attitude left alot to be desired.

Hope this helps- for your guys- try Garden Grill

Sheryl,

And I can't believe  I don't see the Kona Cafe on your list!

Maybe you'd enjoy tonga toast and lilikoi juice at breakfast before riding the monorail to the Magic Kingdom? Any meal there is good, actually. The food's great and the wait staff is wonderful.

I suggest the dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern.
And on a day when your big meal is a breakfast buffet how about the ice cream social at Garden Grill. Great character interaction at a great price and of course tasty ice cream!!!

Olivia's at OKW. Great restaurant and a super menu with a lot of variety. Then take the boat over to DD, great way to relax after dinner. Just check to make sure there is room as resort guests have priority.

We liked the food at Spoodles and Coral Reef. But we have discovered Coral Reef can be a bit sporadic to the actual goodness of the food. It is neat to eat in there when they are diving though

Of the restaurants you haven't tried yet my picks would be Brown Derby, Liberty Tree Tavern. San Angel Inn.

Definitely Jiko or Kona Cafe or Brown Derby. What about dinner theater? Have you been to the Hoop De Doo? The show is awesome and the food is actually quite tasty (though not exactly gourmet). It's a little pricey but for what you get I think it's a good value.

Thank you all for the great suggestions. So far I have Cinderella's Castle for lunch or dinner, and Marrakesh (and Yes Margaret, Nick wants to see the belly dancer. I'll get pictures of that). I've heard great things about Garden Grill and Trail's End, so those have been written down also.

Terry is not daring when it comes for food, or I would try Jiko's. And I'm thinking of saving Kona's for January when we stay at the Poly. Oh the choices! I guess I've got some work to do, don't I.

Thanks for all your help.

Hi Sheryl:

Didn't see this post earlier but here's my suggestions:

DH and I LOVED Garden Grille and the characters were everywhere every five minutes. Food was great and served in a frying pan on the table. You could get all you wanted too. Servers were great too. (That's where we got rehitched last Dec!).

Loved Brown Derby for lunch.
Loved Mama Melrose (first time in Dec.) and DH wants to return this year for lunch also - maybe dinner.
Whispering Canyon is lots of fun for the boys - went both times for breakfast. (don't ask for the ketchup!!).

California Grill was great for the two of us at night watching the fireworks a few years ago. Prices high for a whole family I thought.

Ohana - great.

Kona - first time last Dec. and DH wants to go back next trip. Went for dinner. Deelicious dessert choices too.

Artist Point at WL - haven't been since our honeymoon but we liked it then for dinner.

Liberty Tree Tavern - loved the character meal and got WAY more food then we needed. Went for dinner before MVMCP.

Prime Time Cafe for lunch - great.

Le Cellier - was our favorite before we tried a few new ones.

Donalds Breakfastasaurus - fantastic for DH's birthday one August morning. Lots of characters.

Cinderella's castle for lunch was good. A bit crowded that day.

I forgot if it's Jiko's or Boma's we ate at. The one with all the food buffet style. The food was very different but we found choices we really liked. My favorite place for dessert so far!!!

Can't think of any more right now but you have a big choice to make. Good luck!!! I am already starting on where we want to eat next December so we can try all new ones this time. HAVE FUN!!!
