My younger sister is thinking about taking her 13 yr old daughter & 4 yr old son to Disney this summer. I would love to be able to find some of those Light up necklaces & bracelets that Disney sells but at a budget price. Anyone have any ideas of where I can find them?

Kristen has found these several times at our local dollar store. Some she found have batteries (little watch ones) and have lasted 3 trips now! They blink in various colors, and the girls love to wear them during fireworks, and/or Spectro. Nice, because they are easy to pack!

There is nothing more appealing than all the lights in Disney after dark. If you are one of them, so much the better. However, their light trinkets are high! That Buzz Lightyear twirly thing is $20 or better. Ouch! Especially if little Cletus drops the durn thing in the exit crowd after Illuminations. Buying the necklaces, bracelets ahead of time and hiding them away is inspired. 8)

Oh, those WAY overpriced twirly things! We are still bringing ours from the first couple trips! :) The girls love them though, and I'd rather pack them than buy new ones each year!

Another place to get the light up braclets and necklaces is thru Oriental Trading Company. Just follow the advertisment on the forum index and you'll be helping out Tagrel.com as well! 8)

We got all of our light-up necklaces at our local party decorations store (PartyTime). You can also get a large quantity of them pretty cheap from Oriental Trading (as LimeGreen mentioned). :)

We got some really nice "Over priced twirly things" at Walmart for $3.88. They didn't have characters on top but they had nice colors - pink, purple and green. We picked one up before our last trip and DD was more than happy to make hers original by covering it with Disney stickers from the Dollar store 8)

Also, the light up necklace/bracelets sets are usually at the Dollar Tree stores if you have any of those near you. They also have cute little Disney things for packing "souvenirs" ahead of time - keychains, stickers, flashlights, hair bows, etc.

We usually go down around DD's birthday and will ship a small package of Disney items to the resort, and have it delievered while we are at the park. She comes back and thinks Mickey has left her all these neat little surprises :D
