One of the listservers I belong to is ClayArt (for professional and hobbiest potters) This was mentioned on the site because it's been drawing interest as a way to market handmade crafts besides going through eBay. http://www.etsy.com I haven't used them so I can't recommend it from first hand experience. So your mileage may vary if you try it. Thought I'd pass the site along for anyone wanting to explore it. If you do use Etsy I'd be curious to know your opinion on it?

I've bought things from sellers on Etsy but haven't sold anything myself. It was a good experience though.

Hi! I buy and sell on etsy! I was urned on to it by DisneyMommyMichelle. Please send me a message if you want info. I have sold 25 things a few short months. Their fees are minimal and you item stays up for 4 months at a flat rate you choose. No auctions. I have 41 items up right now. I sell funky fun jewerly, some disney, but I have had many of my sales as supplies. So I have defaulted into that as my niche? I am also going to keep creating and putting hippie bags and purses on soon. Its just for fun for me,but some people are extremely successful and its a second income that they can depend on! Good luck! Missy

Barrie, Mena, thanks for the positive feedback on Etsy. I appreciate it. I'm going to have to explore the shops there more. BTW Mena what shop is yours? You might pick up some sales if the community knew about your items after all ;)

We try to keep non-sponsor, member business links out of signatures. Just a general rule. But I will allow a one time link in a thread of this nature - since someone specifically asked...

So go for it Missy. :D

Hi everyone! I'm Menas great friend!! Thanks for letting me check this place out!!! I love it! :) I'm sure to get addicted quickly!

Etsy is really easy to navigate whether you are a buyer or seller :) I sell my jewelry there and have done pretty well. I just made 201 sales before the clock struck midnight yesterday! I've been there for 4 months.

Please feel free to ask any questions and Mena292 and I can help you out as much as we can!!

I spoke with Tramp about it - I also have outdoor furniture besides the jewelry and love the whole idea - what I can't handle is giving them my Credit Card Number - it really bothers me :(

Lady, i haven't had any problems with it, but the CC number is for your fees that you have to pay every month (listing and selling). You authorize the payment every month it is not automated, BUT it keeps the kids and non serious people away from just opening shops with nothing in them :)

It's a great place to sell your handmade goods, since it's so much different than EBAy and it's a lot more fun.

Hello everyone and just an update on the shop...things are going well. I sell more supplies than my jewelry but hey, itls fun! I am also working on a donation basket for a leukemia fundraiser with items from etsy sellers. Did any of you end up opening up a store? It would be a great way to promote your shop? I hope you all are doing well in your crafty adventures. I have been MIA lately because I had a trip cancel the day we were suposed to leave just recently because the person I was going with got into a motorcycle accident the evening before. He is ok, but was too shook up to leave. It's hard to visit this place after that when you dont have another trip planned in site. :( I did get a teaching job though and start the end of august. I am running the emotionaly disturbed unit grades 7,8,9,and 10...ACK :yowsa:
