I know most people won't see this until later in the week, but anyway:

What did you get (camera or accessory)?

Was it a surprise or did you know ahead of time?

Did you use it on Christmas day at all?

Ever had one (or similar) before?

And for those who GAVE cameras or gear:

What did you give (camera or accessory)?

Was it a surprise or did the recipient know ahead of time?

Did the recipient use it on Christmas day at all?

Has the recipient ever had one (or similar) before?

I got an Olympus FE-210, 7.1 Megapixel camera. I bought I for myself and gave it to my husband to wrap and put under the tree. :p It takes amazing pictures. Wish I had it with me last weekend at DisneyWorld. And, yes I have already used it.

What did you get (camera or accessory)? Camera - Canon PowerShot S3 IS

Was it a surprise or did you know ahead of time? Considering I picked it out myself, I'd have to say I knew ahead of time.

Did you use it on Christmas day at all? Of course

Ever had one (or similar) before? Never one quite like this.

I received a Kodak M873 for Christmas. I knew I was getting it as I was there when Bill bought it. He gave it to me early when I complained how long my other digital was taking to snap pics at Karaoke a couple weeks ago.

We bought the Kodak MD853's when they were on sale the day after Thanksgiving at SuperTarget. They were a great bargain at $83! :yahoo:
So I snapped up a few to give to a couple of the kids and an extra just because you just never know. :)

So far, I like mine and have received no complaints from the kiddos on theirs.

I sold a ton of cameras. Does that count?

Does a video camera count?

WE got for each other a new JVC hard drive video camera, but it doea take "regular" pics(with more megapixels and more zoom than our current camera)! So far I don't really know how to use it! However on christmas we did get some good video of everyone playing the new Wii! Oh My Gosh that video may end up on you tube it's so funny!

What did you get (camera or accessory)? I received an Olympus FE-280. 8.o Megapixel.

Was it a surprise or did you know ahead of time? My husband and I looked at several of them before the holidays, so I was hoping to get one for Christmas.

Did you use it on Christmas day at all? Did not get a chance, but will definitely use it on our trip in January.

Ever had one (or similar) before? We had a HP photsmart 318 which is very old but still takes great pictures. Cannot wait to use our new one

I received a Kodak Z812 IS, 1gb SD, rechargeable battery, universal charger and Kodak 5100 All-In-One printer. Tripod & camera bag were on my Christmas list, but Santa didn't bring them.

Was it a surprise or did you know ahead of time?

Not a surprise. I picked it out. :D The memory card, printer and shipping upgrade came free!!

Did you use it on Christmas day at all?

Yes and I use it almost daily, though my photos don't yet show it. :(

Ever had one (or similar) before?

Very similar. Still have my Kodak DX6490 as a backup camera.

Accessories - RRS L bracket, RRS focusing/pano rail, 30" LCD Monitor.

Was it a surprise or did you know ahead of time?

I bought them, so I guess it really wasn't much of a surprise. My wife and I mainly just approve extra expenses around XMas time rather than buying each other stuff. That way everyone gets what they really want.

Did you use it on Christmas day at all?

No. I didn't take any pictures on XMas day. I shot video, though, but not with any new presents.

Ever had one (or similar) before?

I had a normal (non-L) bracket. I also had a pano rail once, but it was way to flimsy and essentially useless.

The bracket and rail are pretty boring, but I'm really excited about the monitor. Now I'll have gobs of room for photo editing. It's higher resolution (2560x1600) than my two 19" LCD's combined.

Holy buckets!

One of my best friends has a 24" monitor on his photo editing PC, and it seems like a queen-size bed compared to my puny 19" widescreen monitor (of course, this is the same guy who has a 60" TV in his 8' deep living room!)

I can't imagine what it's like to work on a 30" computer monitor. The word "COOLNESS" just doesn't have enough letters in it!

What did you get (camera or accessory)?
Accessory - a Canon Pixma MP470 All-in-1 Photo Printer.

Was it a surprise or did you know ahead of time?
No surprise - I ordered it myself. I didn't even know I wanted it, but spotted that it was part of a free-after-rebate offer from Apple while I was purchasing an iMac as a gift for someone else. Who can turn down a free printer? :)

Did you use it on Christmas day at all?
No, I finally got around to installing it last night.

Ever had one (or similar) before?
I've never had a multi-function printer before, but owned another Canon photo printer. I'm excited to have a scanner now, my first. Looking forward to being able to scan my film vacation pictures and old family photographs!
