We usually stay offsite and eat most of our dinners offsite. We usually end up going to same places each time (Bennigan's, Pacinos, Olive Garden, Golden Corral, Sizzler, Rainforest). This summer I'd like to try a few different places. Any recommendations? We're looking at Sweet Tomatoes, Tony Roma's, Black Angus as possibilities. Has anyone tried any of these? This trip will be DH, DD (13) and myself. Any place you really love?

Hi Barb,
We really like Romano's Macaroni Grill. The food is surprisingly good for a food chain. The one near us is always packed.
There are two of them in the Disney area:

If you like wings, Ker's Winghouse has some very good ones. We like them unbreaded with mild or medium hot sauce. They also have a sauce called Dallas that is more of a sweet bbq sauce that is very yummy as well. http://www.winghouse.com The Place is sort of like a Hooters with better wings.
Another favorite of mine is Cafe TuTu Tango on I-Drive. Very yummy food, excellent drinks (Tuesday is 1/2 price Martinis!!) and an interesting atmosphere. http://www.cafetututango.com
Orlando Alehouse has yummy food - there is one by the Florida Mall.
Bahama Breeze is part of the Darden chain and has excellent food with a Caribbean flair. There is one right off exit 67 (I think thats the right exit number...it might be exit 68 though. It is for SR-535) from I-4 eastbound.

We have a Sweet Tomatoes here in Atlanta. It has a huge salad bar, about 5 different soups, a bakery, a pasta bar, a fruit bar, and an ice cream bar. We get the most bang for our buck here and we eat there alot. It's a great resturant! :D

My mom told me about Sweet Tomatoes and how much my niece loved the place. So when Valerie was home sick, my mom and I went and I was pleasantly surprised.
She is also a big fan of Bahama Breeze as well as the rest of my family that goes to visit her. I haven't tried it yet though.

We also have a "Sweet tomatoes" in Denver -- We enjoy it!
Soups are very good -- their chili on top of a baked potatoe - Yum
And believe it or not -- their Mac and Cheese has been deem Hive or allergy worthy by myself and my god-daughter who are both allergic to wheat! 8)
We liked Chevey's right outside the gate, near Goodings. It too is a chain like Chili's, but better. They make their own torillas right in the resturant and the kids can watch. We went in Sept and it was quiet. They had a balloon guy that came to the tables. I liked that the kids meals came with fresh fruit on the plate. It was reasonable and relaxing.
Thanks for the post. I too rather eat off campus and the responses have been helpful.

Tony Romas and Black Angus are here in Washington. They are a mid priced restaurant but both have specials and menus that are seasonal priced. Such as a couple weeks ago my husband and I went to Black Angus for lunch and got a Salad, Steak dinner and drink and brownie dessert all priced for $10.99. (It was a special lunch since he was on the way to the airport that day)
Tony Romas is all about Ribs and chicken. Really great tasting ones too!! Ive only been about three times because they are a bit expensive too. I belive our dinners were about $15 to $20 each there too. They have som many rib and Barbeque sauce choices too.
Both of these restaurants are meats grilled on the the grill or open fire. I think both are excellent restaurants. Im a chicken or Fish person so if I like a steak or Rib house they have to be at least decent.

Just wanted to point out that if you are interested in checking out the Orlando Ale House, there is one located in LBV across from the Sheraton Safari. There is also one located over by Universal, right across on Kirkman.
Two places I would recommend if you don't mind driving a bit are
Pounders Seafood which is located on Central Ave in Kissimmee. You would need to go East on 192 til you got to Central Ave (it is about 3 or 4 miles past the Wal-Mart). Take the right on Central and Pounders is on the left.
Also La Forcetta's is a great italian place located on South John Young. Once again, 192 East til you get to John Young, right on John Young, La Forcetta's is about 5 blocks down on the left hand side.
