Well, after Miss B provided the link to her very cool Guestmap, I just HAD to add one to the site directly! :) Its such a great idea, and I wanted to integrate it right into our own little world here.
Its a simpler program (no zooming yet), but I think it gets the job done, and I added a few Disney tweaks! The map is only the US - I found a full world map was so small as to be almost unreadable. As Miss B suggested, I think placing icons near WDW - or maybe in the ocean in the 'correct' direction for those living outside the US? ;)
It will be great seeing where everyone hails from. You will find the link in the left hand menu - right under the Photo Gallery.
To add an icon, just select one from the bottom of the screen, and drag it to the desired location. Enter data in the popup window. To see a Guests comments, just point your cursor over an icon on the map.
If you make a mistake, just send me a PM and I'll remove the entry so you can try again! :)
Thanks Miss B!!!!!!

Oh, good. I tried several times but couldn't get my icon to add to MissB's map, but the new one worked on the first attempt.

Cool! I love that it's Mickey-ified, Tag. And I am very happy that it will be a regular part of the site! :D
And Tagrel, it is a joy to have a Webmaster who appreciates suggestions! 8)
Will, did you fill in allll the fields? One that didn't look required was required (comment). I'm going to keep my copy for a precious souvenir and it just isn't the same without you there :(

What would we do without you Dave and all the wonderfully talented and imaginative friends on this site???? (Taginators).
Thanks again. I added my little mickey icon to PA and can't wait until it's all filled in!

That's a great idea! Thanks Miss B and Tag for adding such a neat toy for us to play with.
Just a note: I found I had some problems viewing the names/notes using Netscape, but it worked fine on IE.

Thanks, that is really neat. When I posted mine I typed in peipaula but it saved as SuzyQ. Can you correct this for me Dave? I am the gold one top right hand side.
thanks

Hi Paula - you found a BUG in the Globetrotter Software!
I'm going to have to take a look and figure out why its switching you and suzyQ (that's what it is doing!) Then I'll have to let them know about the problem so they can fix it in a future version.
Thanks!

I tried to put my self in my place and I wouldn't stay! I guess I'll have to try again when the map is awake. LOL

Still having trouble putting myself in my place. What does this map have against early risers (or is it just Hoosiers)??

Sorry Pam, missed your first post about this... What exactly happens? What browser are you using? You should drag an icon from the bottom of the screen to the desired location, and a popup should come up for info when you 'drop it'. Is that happening? Are you entering the info, and Submitting, and it does not stay put?
Thanks for any info you can share... Anyone else try to add an icon and not have it work?

Yep I click on the purple "Mickey head" drag it to northeastern Indiana the little box pops up I entered first my name then email and a note at the bottom I tried that 3-4 times over a couple of days the last time I even put "tagrel.com" in for a web site and it just disappeared again. The first day after trying I exited the program to see if I just had to close out, then when I came back the second time still no me.

That is very strange Pam... :confused2: Are you using internet explorer? I have no clue why it would work for others, but not you unless its something in your browser settings...
I just tried it - used a purple icon, NE Indiana, added a name and a comment only and it stayed just fine... (deleted it now, so don't expect to see it there...) :)
I could add it for you if you don't mind the placement being a bit off! :winking:

LOL, I have to fix it for you Susan (See previous post by peipaula).
I've contacted the maker of the Guestmap and they know about the problem, and are fixing it in the next version.
For now, I can just move you up or down a touch and problem solved! :)

Looked through the database and found a couple at the same Y-Coordinates. (That is when the bug happens!), Everyone should be themselves now! :)
I'm looking forward to the next version of this program. Several bug fixes, and a Admin page so I don't have to change the database directly!
