Universal Character Dining

I was on a quest today to find out about Character Dining at Universal.

I called 1-407-503-DINE and found out that there are no character
meals in the parks at all anymore.

Each resort hotel has one restaurant that will have character dining. The characters will rotate. They do accept reservations.

Hard Rock Hotel has their character meal at the Sunset Grill on Weds &
Sat.
Portofino Bay Hotel has theirs at the Trattoria Del Porto on Fri

Royal Pacific Resort's meal is at the Islands Dining Room on Mon, Tues, and Thurs

This is a question which arises frequently. Before all the cuts in late 2001, there was a good character meal at Confisco's at Islands of Adventure. Sadly, it never came back. Even the character meals at the resort hotels are sparse in numbers of character appearances. Woody Woodpecker and Scooby Doo are most often the main attractions.

I think they could have a real hit if they started a Marvel Super Hero character meal. Lunch with Spidey would suit me just fine! 8)

Boy are you right about the Super Heroes, Moley! It would be nice to finally have a character meal geared towards boys too. Fortunately, we did get to go to the Villain's Dinner at GF during it's brief stint.

But the Super heroes would definitely appeal to even the adult guests! How many grown men would line up to see them? They get stormed with people so quickly outside in the queues.

We did see Spidey at the Confisco Grill the one time we caught their character meal. He had a face-off with Dr. Doom right in the middle of the restaurant. Many other characters there too that day. Quite enjoyable!

Oh, I would LOVE dinner with Spiderman. I mean my daughter would love dinner with Spiderman..... I hadn't even thought of doing character dining while at Universal, we are burned out on character dining at WDW. Thanks for the info!
