Hello all,
I was just wondering what everyone is baking as far as desserts for Thanksgiving this year? Any new and different variations on Pumkin pie, Pecan pie, Apple Pie? I am making a Crunch cake for our extended family. Crunch is essentially peanut brittle without the peanuts all crumbled over a marbled chocolate and yellow swirled cake with a custard filling and then REAL whipped cream over everything, then the crunch on top, and slivered toasted almonds scattered over the cake. This is a real rich cake and it is one I don't make very often because of the crunch has to be made on a sunny day when it isn't humid. Um South Texas not humid? Hah I am also making a Pumkin Pie from scratch and then maybe might make some Turkey shaped sugar cookies. I am learning how to decorate cakes professionally and this is the time of year that I really shine. I love to bake anything and everything I can.
I usually make 3 or 4 different types of cookies to give to the teachers each year. I try to change from year to year so I am not making the same thing year after year. So what does everyone else do in terems of baking for the holidays?
