They're done and already at Baker University. I have a picture of the pieces. I've a simple digital camera but without a macro closeup function the best I could do for my insurance documentation is somewhat fuzzy.
The box on the left is a 4 color agateware. It's very involved creating the piece's clay. You might be able to see the banding in the flute cuts if you've got a good eye. Just ignore the rubber bands I put on it for it's packing. The second is a Whimsy mouse piece I added to the shipment since I'm allowed two pieces per entry.

I like the box! Am glad you said the other piece was a mouse because I first thought it was an abstract elephant. Please let us know how you make out from this event.

I tell you I'm starting to get a little antsy :). The entries for this exhibition close Feb 18th so the judging will happen soon after. It's my first international competition so I'm a tad nervous. Only natural I guess? :) Keep the PD coming if you can. It'd be nice to get in the traveling show :)

The PD is flowing for you, Andy! That's still a pretty long time to wait...I hope you get in.
How far will the exhibit be traveling?

Around the world for 2 years Miss B. Even If I don't place for the traveling exhibit I know my pieces will be put on exhibit for sale to benefit Baker University. I sort of like that :)

Well the show list came out today and I'm not in the exhibition. Guess I'll have to build a few pieces for the next competion in 2 years...I AIN'T giving up :) Besides in two years time who knows where more experience will take me ?? :) At least my pieces are on the sales floor and will do the College some good fundraising for it's programs. Hopefully the College will post pictures of the exhibited pieces and I'll be able to learn from what placed.

Darn. I know you're disappointed, Andy, but I'm sure you'll keep on growing as an artist so there's always next year. (how many times did Edison try before finally inventing the light bulb?)

Thanks Linda. To tell the truth I'm not destroyed by the announcement. What it has done is pique my interest in trying to make my pieces better. Also I'm extremely curious to see the image library of the accepted pottery when it's published. I want to see what I can learn from their photos since I can't get out to Baker University to see the show.

Good attitude, Andy. I'm sorry to hear your work won't be in this exhibition. It will be interesting to see what they were looking for.
