How my swim fin stayed in Orlando. Or, how Owner’s Locker helped me pack!

At the end of our wonderful cruise, we stayed a few nights at AKL. Since I knew the purple Locker would be waiting for us I decided to take full sized items like shampoo and such, and we took a water pitcher on the ship! Since we love to shop we bought things for the Gift exchange as we traveled Spain. And we of course bought all kinds of things cuz we just love to shop.

So I think we over did the shopping - shocking I know. But we had that great purple locker. So I started listing the things we would leave in our locker for the next trip or the next two trips or the next 100 trips.

The list had about 35 things on it when I stopped writing down. Lots of the little things that just take up space in the luggage. All the first aid kind of things, scissors, a fanny packet, the Brita pitcher, a fanny packet and the locker was not even close to being full. The suitcases were over filled and still more stuff laying around!

So in went the gifts for the gift exchange, some other things that could stay. Still more room.

Then there were those dang swim fins - I love my new swim fins - they were a great price, they made snorkeling great fun - they don’t weight a lot but they are a bit long! So the fit perfectly in the locker! Which was how they got left in Orlando!

My experience with Owner’s Locker is great from the start. From the phone call to walk me through the set-up to the text message that told me my locker had been delivered to using the locker. I just loved the little plastic case for the small things. It keeps things together so nicely, and fits perfectly inside. As we were leaving the resort, we saw the big purple van pull up and soon the purple locker was on its way back to the storage place. I look forward to seeing my locker soon!

That's a lot of space! I like that a purple van does the delivery, too. What is your locker's name?

Well I was thinking of a name - Since GroupHugJohn and FLSharon have the big ole van of love - I was thinking the Big ole Tub of Love!;)

I am a really light packer and don't shop much so I was trying to figure out what I could possibly put in my locker this week. I don't want to think I am ignoring it so i think I might just throw some bricks in.

I think mostly I will put in decorating supplies. Tapes, scissors, a strand of lights.

I like the Big ole Tub O Love.

The mom says to call it the Rockies Locker since it is purple!

Frogman - refillable mug, water pitcher, an air mattress for when you can't find a spare bed ;), bandaids, moleskin, your Mr incrediable costume! The list goes on and one!

Frogman can't pack his Mr. Incredible costume. Everyone knows that he wears it under his clothes for when he needs to fight evil!

Frogman, there are tons of things you can leave in your locker. I like leaving the toiletries behind. I'm going to leave some slippers in mine, and some beach towels, and stuff like that.

The Big ole Tub of Love now has new things in it. Some Mousefest things, a mickey beach towel, and a couple of Mousefest T-shirts.

Let me tell you how much I love the Big ole Tub of Love - having all my first aid stuff, all my shampoo, toothpaste, and other liquid things that can't be carried on anymore and are just heavy in the checked luggage it meant I could easily take all the nametags and such and not worry about weight limits.

I think that most people would find this service helpful and even necessary after they use it a few time. Single travelers might be hesistant to purchase a locker. But hey at Tagrel.com we are never alone;) so maybe think about how to make that work for you!

I am lovin the tub already!:colorhearts:

p.s. the swim fins came home this trip!

I put a few things in mine as well, though not much yet. I will have more to leave in December. It was incredible to get the text messages from the box telling me when it arrived and left. I don't know how it types with no thumbs though, just another mystery of the purple boxes I suppose.

If I had one, I'd have left the coffee pot, the first aid kit, a bathing suit, and a roll of packing tape and scissors so next time I could mail home all the scrapbooking supplies I bought!

ooooooh, BetsyAnn, I love the photos and the kind words. When you have some spare time, share your pics on the OL forums so our other members can appreciate your ingenuity (and as far as I know that's the first pair of swim fins someone has stored!)

I left quite a bit of stuff in my locker too! and I already have a list of stuff to bring down to leave in it at mousefest. I'll have lots more room for mousefest since I'll be bringing 2 suitcases (mostly for decorations) which will also be left after the fest is over. I think the purple van may need a fork lift to get my locker in it after mousefest.

(still trying to figure out how to pack a cow for the t-shirt contest though!)

I love my Owner's Locker! It was there when I checked into the Dolphin & we moved it with us to Pop Century. Dropped it off with Pop Bell Services & know it is back at the main facilty for a few weeks. It sure came in handy being able to leave stuff in there for Mousefest because I never would have been able to get 5 t-shirts in there that I acquired during this trip. I love having my toilitries there rather than having to cram them in little bottles in that quart size bag.

This is such a nifty concept. I wish we had thought of it years ago...:)

Thanks so much for sharing your creativity with us, Betsy....:)
