DizzneeMomma your piece is done. The crafts center I build pottery in wanted me to put it in an exhibit they're running this weekend. I should be able to ship it to you when they return the piece to me next Thusday or Friday. PM me your street addy next chance you get . UPS won't ship to PO Boxes.

Kelli, I haven't forgotten about you. I've something partially done right now but it won't be till at least Nov 1st for it's first firing. The tech is running six kilns now and is having a hard time keeping up with all the pottery & painting ceramic classes.

Just let me know when you're ready or it's ready, I know it will be great!!!

Andy,

I just noticed your dog in your post, can you tell me about her/him? Whatever you know?

I have a dog that I just adopted a month ago that looks remarkably like yours! Ours came from an animal shelter about 60 miles from here, she's 10 months old and mostly German Shepherd and had lived in the shelter since she was a couple of weeks old and is the most amazing dog! We love her and she feels like she's been a part of the family for years! We named her Daisy, yes, like Daisy Duck. If I can figure out how, I'll attach her photo.

Belle is a favorite of ours here Kelli. She's a Shetland Sheepdog and about 5 years old now. Your Daisy is amazing?.....definitely sounds part sheltie :) I'd love to see pix of her.

To do that save the pix on your computer in a Jpeg format
Upload it offsite to a a photo storage like http://www.photobucket.com
Copy it's [IMG] code
And Paste it into your message

DizzneeMomma I shipped your pottery by UPS yesterday. If they keep their delivery schedule it should arrive the 22nd. I've PM'd you the tracking number. Let me know if it arrives in one piece? UPS I've found to be fairly good but breakages do occur once in a while.

I can only see the picture on the album cover but I can see She's beautiful Keli. I bet she's training easy?? :) Definitely looks like she's got some sheltie in her. How big is she BTW? It's hard to tell.

Keli, Bad news. Your piece cracked in it's drying. Luckily the next classes start this Thursday so rebuilding it won't be a problem. With the holidays coming the tech will be running the kilns more often so the wait shouldn't be too long to get it.

Keli I rebuilt your piece today. I'm hoping it'll be through it's first firing next week so it can be glazed. Roughly it'll be slightly smaller then a 2 liter soda bottle; if you need to make space for it.

Oh, wow, I'm sorry it cracked! That must be very distressing as an artist! I know when I make a quilt and wash it the first time and find that one of the seams has come apart, it's very upsetting!:(

But I'm glad you were able to fix it!:D

I'm anxious to see it, of course, but take your time, I'm really in no hurry, but am really honored that you would do a piece for me!

I tell you what I can do Kelli. If it gets through it's first bisque firing I can take a pix of the unglazed piece. The best way I can describe it now it's a folk art face crock you can prolly use as a cookie jar. Cross your fingers it makes it through this first firing.

Here's the pot in it's raw unglazed state Kelli. At this point I'm not certain if I'm going to go with this cover or another closeure. It's an old Folklore form called a Devil Jar BTW. It's to scare naughty children from swiping too many cookies from the cookie jar. :)

I put it in for glaze fire today. I'm hoping it'll be out sometime next week. Cross your fingers. There's a lot of holiday gifts getting fired. Even with 6 kilns running it may be after Thanksgiving till it gets done.

Cross your fingers there weren't any of the children's works exploding in the kiln Kelli. I'm hoping your Devil Jar will be out of the kiln tomorrow. :)

Kelli, I dropped by the ceramics lab and the Devil Jar hadn't come out of the kiln yet. I've got a session there Saturday. Hopefully it'll be out by then. Keep those fingers crossed. Those fangs on it are temperature sensitive. I expect them to bend a bit but how much depends on the final temp the kiln reaches.

Kelli your piece is done I tweaked and played with the teeth till I got what I liked. I also put a cork top on it because I did't think the ceramic one had any character. Here's two views of it. Whatcha think? I'll send it Monday or Tuesday UPS and PM you that cost for the shipping.

I sent you a PM, but I really wanted you to know how much I love it!! The boys love it too, they say it looks "mean"!! I'm really touched that you did this for me and I'll treasure it always!

Nice to hear you liked the piece Kelli. Thought you'd like the character of it with the one tooth. I felt it added to it. The two teeth didn't have the "zest" it has now IMO. I hope you put it too good use.
