My dh wants a small camera to take skiing - slim with no bulges so that if he falls on it, it won't kill him. This is what he's looking at: http://www.ritzcamera.com/product/541530044.htm?bct=t13031003%3Bcidigital-cameras-and-accessories%3Bcicompact-digital-cameras

Is anyone familiar with this camera or otherwise have an opinion? If great minds agree, whether on this one or another one, my holiday shopping will be easy this year.

Thank you!

Ursulinda, why don't you just get Olympus SW camera (shockproof and waterproof). As a camera, just like any point and shoot, it's not phenomenal, but as an all-weather, abuse-resistant camera, it's more than decent.

I own the Coolpix s7c http://www.nikonusa.com/template.php?cat=1&grp=2&productNr=25552

And I am a Nikon Fanboy, so keep that in mind. Nikon is great, and also uses the same interface as the Kodak printers, so that is good.

I think these cameras are great, but again most of the Canon/Nikon/Kodak cameras are going to do pretty well. Get a camera that does something you want (water proof, killer zoom) and a good megapixel (most people don't use more than 5mp anyway), at a price you can handle.

You can't go wrong with that camera, but you are probable safe with most of the major brands.

Here is a picture taken with mine.

I'll just say this, I've had to send 4 Nikon S4 cameras back defective upon opening the boxes.

OK then! That's good enough for me! Thank you, Lisa.

Kelly, I'm taking your advice! Not only shock proof and water proof, but also FREEZE proof! Thanks!

Thanks Robb & Susan, too.:) If It weren't for the compelling competition that water glass photo would have convinced me.

PS. Kelly, did you ever post lessons 19 and 20? I wanted to print them out for dh and only find the first 18. . .

Funny you should ask about the lessons. I can't even remember the link to the site. Would you kindly give me the link? I hope I still remember the password :p
