I just read a rumor on another forum (they didn't say where they heard this) that sometime in the near future the resort discounts would be eliminated from AP benefits, and would only be available using the Disney Visa card. This would presumably be to increase use of the credit card.
As far as I can see, the resort discounts are the main reason to purchase the AP. What a great way to drive away their base of repeat customers! Of course, sometimes it seems like that is what Disney does best...
Sorry to be so negative! After all, it is only rumor...

Sprite,
I don't know if that is true or not, but I know what you mean about them changing things to help that only seems to hurt them.

I've only had an AP twice and unfortunately never been able to use the AP resort discounts but I certainly hope they continue them. I do sometimes (not always) stay onsite, but just never seems to work in conjection with the AP discounts, but I'm always hoping. For all the years I had the Disney Club, I think I only managed to get the discount on a room once, but it was nice to have that chance.

I've just been lucky enough :D to get a $700 discount on a stay at AKL because of AP benefits. I agree, with the demise of the Disney Club and if the AP benefits are reduced, I'll probably not visit as often. What I don't need is another credit card!

Sprite,

I hadn't heard this rumor, but posted one from another forum that I had heard and asked the person in-the-know there if he has heard your rumor. I'll let you know.

Just one more thing...
