Non-Disney Lodging

Okay, it'll be a low budget trip (in Disney terms anyway) If you had to pick a place other than a Disney hotel to stay at at DL, where would it be. We're looking for cheap, but clean. Reading reveiws I'm seeing cockroaches and dirty socks in the bed sheets. YUCK!

Any ideas?

I totally recommend using Priceline for a 3 star hotel. We have done this on 3 occassion and got the Marriot for $50 over Labor Day weekend, $45 another weekend, and the Hilton for $75 during the World Series playoffs -the night of a game even.

These 2 hotels are normally around $179 per night, so priceline was a great deal.

I definitely say stay away from the Best Westerns - we tried 2 or the 3. All I will say is mold.......

Sometimes Paradise Pier runs $79 specials, Mousesavers usually has the codes listed when this special is in effect.

We stayed at the Hilton a couple of years ago and it was a great rate. It might be worth looking into.

We have stayed a various hotels around DL for nearly 40 years now and there would only be a few we would not go back to. We have had better luck with the Best Westerns than LisaG has but with any older hotel there is always a chance of problems. Clean is a must for us too! And I have asked for another room when there is a serious problem with a room - mold, not working toilets, leaky pipes - and such!

We stayed at Park Place right across the main entrance a couple times and had good luck. It was a very nice room and included either a continental breakfast with juice, muffins, bagles, and fruit or you could have a pancake breakfast in the restaurant downstairs (didnt include the drink though) I htink we paid about $90 a night and this was during 4th of July week. There was a refrigerator in the room. We had a Queen size bed for us and the couch made to a bed for my teenager. She was seperated from us by a small wall so it was like having a little privacy too.
