According the WFTV, the music website Pollstar is reporting that Disney has instituted a 'no heavy metal music' policy and canceled the contract of band that was suppose to perform at the House of Blue.
Isn't the House of Blues in DTD run by House of Blues? I would presume short of a show being pornographic or promoting violence Disney wouldn't have a say in who the HOB hires.
Oh no...if heavy metal is out...is RnRRC safe??
 I think the band just wants to blame Disney for losing the gig.

The cancellation was at Disneyland. Considering the way DTD in Anaheim is adjacent to the Grand Californian and entrance to both parks I could see Disney being concerned about unruly crowds.

Florida metal band Machine Head have sent out a press release claiming that a "stunning" (stunning!) last-minute decision by Walt Disney Properties has forbidden them from performing tomorrow at the House Of Blues Anaheim (which is on Disneyland grounds). Citing "violent imagery, undesirable fans, and inflammatory lyrics," Disney reportedly pressured the promoter, Live Nation, to cancel not only Machine Head's "Black Tyranny" bill (also featuring Arch Enemy, Throwdown, and Sanctity) but all upcoming heavy metal shows, with some acts apparently banned "on name alone." Of course, Disney has yet to confirm any of this, so it's entirely possible that Machine Head's show was canceled for a more pedestrian reason--lackluster ticket sales, for instance--and all of this is a lot of smoke and mirrors meant to illustrate how "controversial" the band is. (Because nothing is more metal than getting banned from Disneyland.)By the way, Disney, if you're still on a banning music kick, could you maybe summon your powers and do something about this (http://www.rhapsody.com/danecook/forward)?

Not sure what is going on, but Aerosmith is not heavy metal - they are classified as Rock. Heavy metal bands are just further along the spectrum......

I was just about to post Aerosmith isn't heavy metal as well. They were glad to hear seeing as they are so old just hearing the word heavy made them tired. ;)

The band's website also reports that shows scheduled at HOB Orlando DTD have also been canceled.
Could this be the start of a "clean up" of the DTD Area?

Hmmm... I would hope that it was not Disney that banned Machine Head from HOB. If Disney is concerned with the type of crowds that some musicians might bring to DTD then they shouldn't have HOB on their properties. HOB should be able to decide who to book at their premises.
