We've never eaten at Chef Mickey's so I'm a little unsure about the parking here. It seems like I remember reading that unless you are staying at the Contemporary you can't park here? Or can you park for a PS? We have a 7:15 am PS, so should we just park at TTC? Does the monorail run that early? I can't remember.

Its been three years, but we parked at Chef Mickey's without a problem then... Just tell the guard that you are eating there, and it should not be a problem unless this is something I haven't heard about... It would be the ONLY resort that doesn't allow parking for PSs... Can't Imagine that.... You'll probably just get one of those 3 hour parking passes... You could always Valet park as well... That is GREAT when its rainy, but costs $6 per day + tip.

Cheri,
When we went in 2002, we had two vehicles, ours and my sister's family. We told them we ahd a PS for Chef Mickeys and they let us into the lot, no questions asked. In fact, we parked right under the monorail which was kind of neat. I'd say we were parked there for quite a few hours,a s our Ps was for 5:30 pm and then we checked out all the monorail resorts, getting back to our vehicles late at night. Don't know if things ahve changed, but we were not charged at all, and our vehicles were there for most of the evening.
Have fun!

Contemporary is the only resort I have ever had trouble parking. A couple of years ago we tried to eat at Chef Mickey's on our last day & the guard would not let us in the parking lot because we did not have a Priority Seating #. Could not park there again this past December when I wanted to look at the Christmas decorations prior to MVMCP. It does seem to be hit or miss here because in June we never had a problem parking when we went to the Mini Meet or when we met EJ4Disney a few times. As long as you have a PS though you will not have any problems.

Being walking distance to the MK must get the Contemporary all KINDS of people trying to park there for free instead of parking at the T&TC. I'll bet they are pretty strict about having a PS... I know we DID have one when we parked there...

A lot of people were parking over at the Contemporary and then sneaking over to the MK to avoid paying to park.
If you have a PS, the guard will give you a 3 hour parking pass to place in the windshield.
You will love Chef Mickeys!

I think the parking problems here depend on when you're trying to park...for example, if you have an evening PS, they don't have to worry as much about people who are trying to park there and walk to MK, so they are more lenient. But, with a morning PS, it is likely someone might just try to park there all day. I experienced this difference on a recent trip. We ate one night at the California Grill and the guard just waved us in. A day or two later, we were going to try to eat lunch there (didn't have a PS)...the guard let us in and gave us a parking pass.
So, they will probably just give you a 3-hour parking pass. And bring your PS number along, just in case! :-)

I think It depends on the time you want to park there whether you need a PS or not. Also who is working at the guard shack at the Contemporary.
Since there will be people that try to park there and avoid TTC & paying, I'm sure the morning would be a no no unless you have a PS.
Margaret also had a problem prior to a MVMCP, but I'm sure they try to avoid the same thing as 1st thing in the morning because of the people that would just try to park there for the party. It appears they do a better job for that than the Poly - remember MikeS said he saw people at the Poly with parking passes saying MVMCP - I would be upset if I was staying there and saw that.
It is a lot easier during off times. When we went for the mini meet it was the middle of the day, so they figure people would really actually be planning on going to the Contemporary than to sneak to the park.
I would be surprised if anyplace turned you down if you had a PS.

I've got a PS number, so I'm thinking our best bet, since it is so early, is just try to park at the Contemporary. Thanks guys! :D

How about checking the Guest Services before trying this? that may give you some security in your mind before going. Also, the monorail may not start running until 7:30. One time I was doing the Train Tour and took a cab to the Magic Kingdom. It was such a foggy morning that at first I didn't even know where the cab had left me out! I had to wait for the 7:30 monorail which made it quite difficult to be at the Train Tour start at 7:30!

My parents ate at Chef Mickey's last week and they were able to park without a problem, they just told the guard they had a PS.
