I've been looking for a plane ticket for a respiratory conference that just happens to be in Orlando. I've noticed that on Tuesday, the tickets seem to be cheaper. They went up by$12 on Wednesday. Has anyone else noticed that airline tickets go on sale on Tuesday? I thought I'd hold out one more week and see if the trend continues. Anyone else have any insight?

Just yesterday I watched on TV a program that explained a bit how the airlines work with their rates. What they said is that rates change 3 times a day, believe it or not!
Also it seems is always cheaper if you travel weekdays (beggining of the week).

Keep on looking and when you feel you've got the best rate possible just book it since it might go up again.

Did it say what time of the day the rates change Gregory?

No, they did not specify what time they did it.

Sorry. Just seeing this post for some reason. It seems that Southwest always have their new prices come out on Tuesdays as well.

When I want to buy a plane ticket I shop online and use various dates to see the date of flying changes the prices. For example, on my next trip I'm coming back on Monday instead of Sunday because the fare was somewhat different. Of course, you have to always trade off whether the difference in plane fare covers possible differences in plane fares. Online pricing comparisons is a great service, something we never could have gotten in the "old days."
