I read on the mouseplanet.com site that Disneyland had and early opening ("Magical Mornings") but that it was discontinued. Does anyone know if they are still discontinued?

Last time I checked that was the case -- I believe the park now just opens for everyone at an early time --

It was that way last summer!

Anyone been there since then?

What a bummer - I was hoping that I would have some incentive to stay at a DL hotel. Oh well, I guess the Candy Cane here I come!!

The biggest advantage of the Disneyland hotel is the closeness to the park. You leave the hotel grounds and your in downtown disney with no streets to cross. I personally havent found that to be enough to make me want to shell out a few hundred dollars to stay there yet. I have stayed at Paradise pier for $99 a night with a view facing California Adventure. That was the best!! I felt liek it was my own theme park and I was watching my own guests from my window. I also got to see the electrical parade from my wndow and when I opened the window I could hear the music too.

I generally stay across the other side of the park at Park Place Inn. Its a best western and I have stayed there a couple times with no problems. Its just a traffic light away on foot.
