Which restaurants are a must at DisneyLand? This can include the parks and the hotels.

You must have a lunch or dinner at the Blue Bayou in DL. It is a really great experience sitting on the PoC river, in the low light enjoying the cuisine. Make sure you have a PS, and let them know when you check in that you would like a riverside seat. I have a couple of other recommendations, but have to look at my notes, so more to follow.

I agree with Blue Byaou and go for lunch. Its the only time you can order the Monte Cristo Sandwich. Resevations are very much a necessary thing and you can do it a couple months ahead too.

We tried an Itialian one in downttown Disney last time I htink its called Naples? We really liked the food. I had a mushroom and saugage pizza nad it was a thin crust and very different from anythign you get at Pizza Hut. Downtown has a lot of different places like House of Blues, Rainforest Cafe. and more. I have been to many Rainforest Cafes and this one ranke in teh middel for me. The one in Downtown Disney Florida is the best one I have been to. The one in California is very similar to the one I went to in Las Vegas. Less Animals and smaller place than Florida.

I do know they have many character breakfast at the hotles but I have never tried any of them. I dont care for all you can establishments and since we havent gone with kids in a long time it habst been a high priority for us. When I take my grand daughter I deffinetly plan a character breakfast though. Its a great way to get photos with out so many lines.

Add another vote to Blue Bayou... My very favorite place to eat at DL! PS are a must, and the food is wonderful -- I have eaten both lunch and dinner there - both are the best! Menu is a little cheaper at lunch, the atmosphere is a little more relaxed at dinner! Choose lunch or dinner but choose to go!

At the DL Hotel we ate at Hook's Pointe serveral years ago -- the food was wonderful, wine was interesting, and service nice. It was a relaxing dinner. :sun:

Breakfast with characters in DL is the Plaza Inn -- I really loved this character meal - it was my first character meal at a Disney Park and it was my B-day - I have no clue if the food was beyond standard - I do remember we did not eat lunch that day and everyone was ate their fill. :D

I also enjoy The French Market in New Orleans Square - it is like a cafertia with southern cooking. It has been a standard stop for the family for years! Mint Julieps and Fritters are also here.

Now if you need to know my favorite grab and go food it is a hot dog at the Refreshment Center end of main street, or a big huck of a corn dog at Corndog Castle in CA. They also have nice hot dogs in CA I think it is called starring weiners or something like that!

Ditto on Blue Bayou!! I would even request a seat by the river. That place has the best atmosphere anywhere(IMHO). I wish they would take that food and put it in the Mexico pavilian at Epcot. Anyways, dont leave Disneyland without eating there:-)

I also heard good things about the main resaurant in the GC. I cant think of the name right now though. We had PS's for it, but had to cancel and I DID regret it:-(

Good luck Donald.

I recommend the Stortteller's Cafe in GCH for the Chip and Dale breakfast. This one always seems quieter and more relaxing than other character meals. Usually Chip, Dale and Pluto are the only characters in attendance.
Goofy's Kitchen in DL for the Sunday brunch/breakfast, lots of fun and entertainment from a large group of characters. On our last visit we saw Alice, Geppetto, Rafiki, Baloo, Mad Hatter and of course Goofy!

The food has always been good at both.

For quick lunches in DL we like Rancho Del Zocalo for the chicken nachos and bbq chicken sandwiches. And the French Market for the Roast Beef au jus sandwhich and the beef stew in bread bowl.

If you need park maps let me know and I can send them to you after our next trip which will probably be next weekend.
