MGM/Mary Poppins

Hi,

I read a thread here that talked about seeing the Mary Poppins characters at MGM (Mary & Bert and the penquins).

Question - are they usually at a certain restaurant/ride/spot?

I've never seen them in the parks and those penquins are another fav of mine ! I'd love to get a pic of them.

I have seen Mary Poppins and/or Bert and the penegiuns in the big circle area near the big hat at the end of Hollywood Blvd. This has happened at least the last 2 trips if not the last 3.

I thought there was a list of times somewhere :shrug: - it is not on the map, it is not on the 4 parks times and new information guide - so I am thinking if such a thing really exists it was on the park times guide and information - which of course I can't find! :roll:

Maybe some one will come along shortly with more information

The other place I have seen Mary Poppins is at the Castle for breakfast. A very nice surprise for me as Mary Poppins is a favorite for me too!

I have never seen Mary Popping at MGM other than riding in the Stars and Motorcars parades, but they do seem to have quite a variety of characters out around the hat so you may luck out.

I too have seen her a the Princess Breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table at MK. She also rides in the Share in a Dream Come True Parade - you need to be on the pasenger's side of the float to see her.

Finally, we have run into MP 2x in the World Showcase the UK area.

Mary Poppins can be found in the UK at Epcot quite regularly.. but we saw her our last trip and it was amazing..
she and the penguin were at the carousel at MK and they chose a beautiful little 2 year old girl (well she looked about 2) to ride the carousel with her.. the penguin didnt ride, he just stood by mary on the carousel...
it was such a moving disney moment.. tears were just streaming down my face - ooh I can feel myself whelling up just thinking about it!!
any way it was magical.
The following day we went to MGM and there was a sign up saying that Julie Andrews was doing a book signing in the bookshop.. so I got to meet the REAL Mary Poppins too.. she was just amazing..

never seen Mary at MGM otherwise, but I would guess she is there occasionally.

Oh gosh Sammie I would loved to have met Julie Andrews. Lucky you.

MGM has been the only park we have run into her. We first found her over by the WYWTBAM, she was only there for a short time and then off for a break. We also saw her over by that blasted hat where they have all of the characters out for autographs and pictures. A neat idea, I just don't like the hat being right there in the middle of the entry to the park.

Just a quick note, like BetsyAnn mentioned, we have seen Mary Poppins in MGM the last two times we were there. They were in front of the hat. I bet that you stand a good chance at finding her there if you want to see her at MGM.
