I'm making a power point presentation for a class, and of course I chose disney as my topic-
so I'm looking for an "undiscovered secret" in each section of the parks, resorts, etc.... (for the uneducated public, that is).
What is your favorite unknown place in the parks?
P.S. any pictures would be GREAT!
Thanks!

I love to look at the colorful carvings of animals on Discovery Island at Animal Kingdom. Every time I see new ones that just make me grin!

Here's one, picture by Ahnalira or Alan:

Fort Wilderness has a free campfire, sing a log and Disney Movie program for all Disney Resort Guests. Chip and Dale make an appearance during the program.

Lets see here?? Oh, I got one  When I took the 8hr behind the scenes tour, we went way in the back, behing MK. That is where they build all the floats and set off fire works and stuff. Anyways, they told us that it was cheaper for Disney to buy all of the parts for their busses and have Disney people assemble them. I didnt see where they built them, but that is what some guy told us on the tour. I thought that was pretty cool. I dont know if they still do it, or if the newer style busses are the same. He may have been talking about all of the seats and railings inside the bus, but that is not what he said. He said Disney buys the parts and builds all of their busses on property!!

Good thread girl:lol: I hope to see lots of great responses.

My favorite non-Disney thing is people watching on the Disney Transportation. Watching and conversing with other on the busses/boats is great fun. The drivers are a wealth of info and the other passengers (usually) are great to talk to or sing with. (We had several sing-a-longs on the GS trip).

Don't know if this still happens, but before they moved the bus stop at the Beach Club, you were able to see both Illuminations fireworks and Magic Kingdom fireworks at the same time (when they run around the same time). This was really cool as your head would ping pong back and forth between the two. I'm not sure if you can see it anymore because of the BCV.

How about some of these.
There are enough of the famous "Mouse Ear" hats sold each year to cover the head of every man, woman and child in Pittsburgh and enough Disney character T-shirts to put Mickey Mouse's smiling face on the chest of every Chicagoan

The mosaic mural in the fourth-floor lobby of Disney's Contemporary Resort was created in 1971 with 1,800 one-square-foot tiles and took 18 months to construct. Look closely: there's a five-legged goat facing the monorail track

The Callaway Golf Experience" offered at Walt Disney World Resort is one of only two Callaway Golf Performance Centers in the world. The other is at the Pebble Beach Golf Course in Monterey, California
Just for a few .

Here are a couple of Disney spots that I love that seem to be "undiscovered" by the masses.

The path from ToonTown to Tomorrowland. Many times you can be the only one on this path.

The Garden behind the shops in the United Kingdom pavilon. Of course this becomes very discovered when British Invasion is playing but most other times is very pleasant to sit and enjoy the surroundings.

The Canada Pavilion. Walking from the movie area to the Gardens is so beautiful but this entire pavilion's beauty is one that is missed by most.

I'll try to think of others for you.

The pathway around the side of the castle heading to Tomorrowland. It's a great path, hardly every used and has a great Snow White fountain and seating area!

Animal Kingdom, sitting in the outdoor Tusker House and listening to the sounds of Harambe

Oh here's another - Riding upfront on the Monorail. My favorite time to be upfront is from MK to Epcot as you get to see all of Epcot from up above.

The key under the mat at Muppets.

The old phone conversation in the General Store at MK. Sometimes they forget to turn it on though.

The tap dancing from the lessons off of Main Street in MK.

The lawnmower tree at FtW.

The antique soccer (or football) game at upstairs at Main Street Train Station - 10 cents. The music machine there - can't thing of the name.

The fishing pole rentals at Dixie Landings & FtW (catch and release).

The petting zoo, pony rides, wagon rides, carriage rides, & horseback riding at FtW.

OK, I'll let someone else go now.

You know Rosebud, Jenine and I rented bikes and rode around the entire FW resort looking for that stupid lawn mower tree. Finally, after about 2hours, I asked a cm on a golf cart and he took us to it. I would still be looking for that thing. I thought it was going to be pretty big, or at least noticable. Nope, if you dont see it soon, it will be gone!! There is only a tiny peice left. I also thought it may have been placed there by Disney, but when I saw it, I knew it was for real. Pretty cool!

Spaceship Earth, the visual and thematic centerpiece of Epcot, weighs 16 million pounds - more than three times that of a Space Shuttle fully fueled and ready for launch. The outer "skin" of Spaceship Earth is made up of 11,324 aluminum and plastic-alloy triangles. Also, did you know that rainwater never falls off the sphere? It's absorbed into the ball and funneled away.

learned this one yesterday. The boat from MGM to Epcot is breathtaking on a sunny afternoon. Very peaceful and relaxing.

When I first heard about it, I thought it would be something real big too. I think I knew where it was so didn't look for 2 hours though. BTW - for those that don't know, it is located near the dock. Heading towards the dock it is on the left side over the fence when you are still within the pavement area.

At home, I don't have a lawnmower tree, but I do have a dog chain tree. It is kind of odd to see a chain growing out of a tree. Although that tree is huge, so maybe there is a lawnmower inside that I can't see.
