CA's TZTOT Tower Event Tonight

Disneyland's California Adventure Park will hold a special ceremony tonight as they officially light the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror sign.

I guess Jamie Lee Curtis will be there and others who have famous screams.

We saw it under construction when we were there last year. I can't wait to get back out there and give the CA version a try!

I really can't wait to ride this!! I was there when the footings were in, so I didnt see much of it. Is there anyone here who has ridden it?? I am curious too hear what is different besides the outside.

I remember seeing a write up that it uses one of the previous drop sequences that WDW used.

I haven't seen the ToT in DL, just what I read. Are you telling me you want me to find some reports on it? And thanks about the sig. I just took an existing graphic and changed the hat to mouse ears and added 'Mousefest'.

I may be able to give you some intel the end of next month Den; I'm working a trip to DL into the schedule over Halloween - we'll miss MNSSHP at WDW, but only can squeeze out 2 days and the weekend, and that just isn't enough time to do WDW. Will let you know if it all comes together.

I've ridden it a few times. Nice theming in the lobby of the hotel. There are props all around. Not sure of the exact number but I think there are supposed to be 93 items that tie directly into Twilight Zone episodes.
After the bellman directs you to the library areas (one on the left and one on the right), you see the set-up film then enter the boiler room area. Library on left goes to 2nd story loading area, the right side stays on the same level. After another brief wait you are loaded into your elevator, each holds 21 people.

Now here is the big difference between CA and FL - no fifth dimension! Elevator backs up just a few feet and doors dissolve into starry night sky. Then you go up to the next level and see the 5 people who dissappear into another starry night sky.

Sorry I can't describe more as this is usually when I close my eyes! LOL!! I do know that you go up and down a few times and they take your picture. Also you get 2 looks out onto the parks.

I'm hoping there will be some kind of surprises for the holiday BA, we are thinking of asking Cath's cousin if he wants to go with us. He has never been to DL, but practically raised at WDW! I would love to show him the Original park.
