View Full Version : August Photo Assignment - HOT!
Barrie

Mark asked me to post the assignments for August and September. I thought August would be a good month for photos that capture the essense of "hot". Hot can be described in many ways. You're free to define it in any way you choose, but just remember to keep it clean! Barrie
ps - feel free to post some ideas for September's assignment.

Seeing that we'll be in WDW for two weeks in August, THIS assignment should NOT be a problem! :peri:

I was thinking the same thing!:peri: We leave next Friday and should be in WDW Saturday! I'm thinking HOT HOT HOT will be the theme of EVERY picture we take:p

While it doesn't have to be from WDW, this one is. The chefs love to stoke up the fire for a guest's camera!

ETA - Sorry Kelly - THAT picture shows a bit too much - and these ARE supposed to be our own (at most) PG-13 photos! So, I removed it.

I'm not sure if it's actually HOT ... but is does look, at the very least, a little stuffy in there. ;)

WHAT is THAT?
Okay. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. But maybe this time I needed a picture AND a thousand words.
It's actually THIS ....
http://tagrel.com/photopost/data/515/MouseMurderer.JPG
..... stuffed into his own little mouse-sized casket. A Disney watch box actually, but it served the purpose very well, I think.
It was a "gift" for my sister, Cindy. According to my birthday card, she had left the b-day shopping up to her kitty, Keiko. It said "You don't already have a dead mouse. do you?" The cruel and twisted part of that story is that I had just called her a few weeks before in tears because I had finally rid my house of a mouse problem. But only by killing seven very cute and whimpering mouses in a horrible way the day before.
Leave it to a sister to "twist the knife" one more time! :p
So when I got her card I simply text messaged her back "Oh, I do already have one. But no worries, I know where to return this one."
So that was my way of "returning the gift."
Thus ends my accidental hijacking of this thread, and I now return us the appropriate topic.

Ok so it's probably a bit cliche to use a picture like this for "HOT" but I really was enjoying Epcot on a Hot summers afternoon and the music recorded during this same viewing of MO Rockin made a very nice episode recently for my podcast
http://www.bigbrian-nc.com/sn2007-22.htm
in that episode I talked about the heat a bit, and perhaps even makes nice background music to listen to while you look at all of these pictures with the subject HOT
http://media.libsyn.com/media/bbdp/bbdp2007-22.mp3 (http://media.libsyn.com/media/bbdp/bbdp2007-22.mp3)
so it really does all tie back together, sort of...
oh and the picture is part of this trip report page:

OK - I tried for a couple good 'fire' shots while in WDW.
The first is the campfire at Vero Beach
http://tagrel.com/images/misc/fire1.jpg
And the second was a torch in Epcot just before Illuminations started.

Other shots show hot, but NOBODY wants to see shots of my sweating in the Florida August sun! :blech:

Okay. How 'bout this time I go for a little more obtuse:

I was thinkin' maybe a HOT ticket? Eh? Huh?
I took this at our State Fair. I had planned to go during the day and get some truly hot photos since it was well over 100 degrees during the fair.
:hot:
But, then again, the fact that it was well over 100 degrees should explain why all my fair photos are at night! :D

It was only a 1 1/2 mile hike to the Arch, but let me tell you, that was one rough 1 1/2 miles! It was up hill all the way. We were already at about 4300 feet above sea level and then went another 500 feet on slick rock to get to the Arch. But it was worth it! I would do it again in a heart beat! The view took my breath away!

You do get used to the altitude. :D Albuquerque is at 5000 feet. But I do remember the process of getting used to it. We lived on the second floor of our apartment complex, and carrying groceries up those stairs was quite a challenge in the beginning.
