A costumed worker was killed after being struck and then run over by a float in the WDw parade this afternoon at the Magic Kingdom.
The death occured in a backstage area of the Magic Kingdom near the Splash Mountain attraction said Jim Solomons a spokesman for the Orange County Sherrifs Office.
The worker has not been identified.
Disney spokeswoman Rena Callahan said the worker was toward the end of the parade and about to enter the park when the accident occurred. It is believed that no visitors/guests witnessed the tragedy.
This is the second cast member to be killed on property. The previous was in 1999 when a maintenance worker fell to his death while working on the Skyway Attraction which has since closed.

How tragic. Prayers for the workers family and his co-workers. These have certainly been trying times for those poor people.

He was a 38 yr old man and father of two. It is very sad indeed.

I posted this link in Park Talk too. It is one of the more detailed articles I've seen.
