Does anyone know if there´s a hotel at the downtown Disney area that provides a free shuttle (or at least a shuttle) to Universal Studios and IOA?
I only read about shuttles to the Disney Theme Parks.

We´re thinking about going to a hotel in that area and won´t have a car for a week, but AP´s to US and IOA.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Jutta :-)

I don't think there are any free shuttles from WDW to Universal. I am fairly certain that Mears does provide shuttle service, though. Why don't you give them a call. (407) 423-5566

If you aren't staying at a Disney resort you should check with the hotel you are staying at to see what they offer.

Sorry, I wasn´t too clear.
I was talking about the hotels located between the Disney Marketplace and Crossroads, not about the Disney onsite resorts. (like the Grosvenor)

Hey Goofygirl! :)

It is unlikely that any of the Downtown Disney hotels have free shuttles to the Uni parks. The Mears service is about 15 per person each way and you stop at several hotels coming and going. It is still far cheaper than a taxi. There are rental cars available nearby, too. They will come get you and you could do a one day rental which might be cheaper and more convenient than a taxi or the shuttle for a large party. There's a new road which is a straight shot up to Universal and easy to get to from the Downtown Disney area. Parking at the Uni parks is another $8. Good luck!

Lets hear the details on finding this new road! :) We will be driving to Universal from BCV during our July trip.

Thanks!

I just saw this post. I'll see if I can hunt down the directions soon. I was on it with my towncar pickup. My driver stopped at a Publix on that road. She said it was a real blessing to have a straight shot from the Disney area up to Universal without having to get on I-4 or International Drive either one. It is a 4 lane road and on the same side of I-4 as the Crossroads area. Will get back to you with better details soon.
