News is this morning that Comcast is after Disney in a hostile takeover? Eisner refused the freindly buyout and now the war is on...well as long as Disney doesn't have a "poison pill" or if they do, Eisner swallows it.....sorry I really didn't mean it,just hope this works out best for the Mouse and US !!

I just found out about this from the Yahoo news site:
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&ncid=&e=2&u=/ap/20040211/ap_on_bi_ge/comcast_disney

I don't know if it's good or bad. If Comcast buys Disney, will they fire Eisner? Probably, since he is the one who refused a friendly takover.

I wonder what Roy and Stan think about it? I think I check it out on SaveDisney.com.

Personally, I think merges is what got Disney into this trouble and another big takeover/merge will only make the trouble worse. Comcast is not a company known for terrific customer service. At its heart it is a cable TV company. Now I know why cable rates go up all the time--it's so they could afford to buy a company as large as Disney.

Oh, and I have Comcast cable internet service. "High speed" they tell me. Well, that's true, except during prime time when speeds are so slow that my favorite sites time out instead of loading. And all Comcast will say is that there's nothing wrong with our modem. Well, duh, we KNOW that.

Sorry for the rant. If there was one name I didn't want to see related to a takeover of Disney, it was that one.

Miss B, I am sorry to hear that . I was sure hoping the news of a takeover would be good riddance to Eisner and hello back to good things...

That could be the silver lining, but odds are that Comcast would want one of their own people in the top spots. I mean, they already have a CEO, so the Disney stuff would be some kind of division...and they'd probably break it up...and who has the better name, better reputation. Oh, man, I better stop thinking about this, my ulcer will start bleeding again.

Breathe, breathe, I can deal with whatever happens, breathe, breathe...
