DH and I will be attending MNSSHP this year with our DD. What did you think of MNSSHP? Did you have a lot of fun? DH and I have both been to MVMCP. And we both really enjoyed it.

Hay DonaldDuck I can't tell you anything about MNSSHP but can you tell me about MVMCP.This will be a first time for us and I have been wondering just what rides are open or is the whole park open?

Though I have never attended, I have read many glowing reviews of the party. There is quite a lot of mention on it from last year in Park Talk (take a peek in the Sept/Oct posts).

Also, Deb Wills' site has a pretty good description on it:

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (http://allearsnet.com/tp/mk/mnssh.htm/)

Tink23 and I did MNSSHP for the first time in October. We absolutely loved it. We actually decided to buy tickets for two nights and it was the best thing we could have done. The first was Friday and we planned on doing mostly the festivities with just a few rides. Then on Sunday, we planned the very opposite catching just those festivities we missed or wanted to see a second time and spent lots of time on the rides. We did the parade both nights and it's not to be missed--especially the headless horseman! It was absolutely amazing. We had our pictures taken both nights--the first was together and the second we had seperate pictures taken. They arrived at our home shortly after we returned. The decorations are just amazing and everywhere. It always amazes me what WDW comes up with and the eye to detail. We did PS at LTT on Sunday at 5:30 and it was a blast. They only do PS at LTT and Crystal Palace those nights.

We did dress up both nights. Oddly, we expected more people to dress up (particularly adults) on Friday and expected it to be very busy. However, I would say just under half were dressed up and it was not even a 5 minute wait for almost all rides. Sunday, we found many, many adults dressed (way more than Friday) but much more crowded!

We really did enjoy ourselves. We'd both highly recommend it!

I must ditto what disneyfanatic wrote; it is just a great time. The parade is, indeed, not to be missed. All of the characters are dressed up in costume and the villans have a starring role. The wait for rides was not very long, around 5-10 minutes as disneyfanatic said. If you are going to be there during the time when it is available, I would certainly tell you not to miss it.

Disneylover: I wanted to give you the correct information so I got my brochure out. All the rides were open. DH and I didn't ride very many rides. We did all the Christmas party stuff. The Christmas parade was fantastic. And we enjoyed Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas Show also.

This is what was featured the year we went.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade
Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks
Mickey's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas
Wild West Christmas Show
Celebrate the Season
Belle's Enchanted Christmas
Polar Express Storyteller

My normal and favorite Disney travel time is late November early December, I love the Christmas decorations and the MVMCP. This past year, 2003, DH & I decided to change the venue and go for halloween. We did the MNSSHP and it was very good, but I ready do like the MVMCP better. One thing I would suggest if you can, get PS at Liberty Tree for dinner the night of the party, it really added to the fun, as you can see in my picture below. I can't say anything bad against the party, its just different. If I go back again in October I would still get tickets for the party, but this year we are going back in December again :mickeyXmas: and I can't wait.

Have fun......... :mickeyHalloween:

We have loved it three times! Does it look like we had fun? (pic taken in 1999) The decorations are really cool and the kids were very pleased with the amount of candy they got. Rides very accessible, I would assume still that the earlier the date you choose the less busy it might be.
