hi Scott,

We enjoyed our lunch at the Whispering Canyon Cafe and my daughter particularly liked participating in the animal calls -- the CM said her velociraptor roar was a first.

Thanks for posting this link to your latest spotlight. You triggered a fun memory and led me to your other spotlight writeups and photos, which are a lot of fun.

Fitting in a visit to the WL for one of the restaurants there is a wonderful idea for any WDW visitor! The great thing about visiting Whispering Canyon Cafe is that the food is good, you can have a raucously good time AND you get to see the incredible WL, lobby and grounds. It is a destination unto itself - and those who have abandoned commando park touring should put this resort on their list of "off-park" activities!!

Thanks for the link Scott - It sounds like a very fun place to eat - may need to add it to the list of must do's for the next trip!

We've eaten at Whispiring Canyon Cafe on several different occasions. The first, just my hubby and I on our 10th anniversary. When we told the CM it was our anniversary, he made a big tadoo about nobody in the resturant being invited and made us kiss again so everybody could see. LOL It was soooo funny!

On our next trip, the kids went with us. They loved the pony races and still have their certificates. The bottomless milkshakes were also a big hit!

Thanks so much for sharing your link Scott! :minnie:

We've eaten at Whispering Canyon the last two visits to WL and thought it was a hoot. Some nights we were sitting in the WL lobby just relaxing and listened to what was going on in the restaurant (which filtered out into the lobby). I really laughed watching the grown men ride the horses and gallop around the lobby repeating what the CM's told them to say "I must eat my veggies" etc.

Our last day at WL last Dec. we wanted to eat and get out on the road early and tried to stay inconspicuous so we could get out early. The server kept trying to get us involved and we just whispered that a big snow storm was predicted for PA and we wanted to get on the roads as fast as possible to avoid the storm. She was good and brought us our meal fast. As we left, she then yelled to everyone that we were leaving to go home and everyone had to stand and wave their napkins at us and crying that we had to leave. Too funny.

This is a family fav for us as well. Your right Cinderella, listening from the lobby is great fun. I remember the first time we walked in to check in, we thought, what is going on in there. We were thinking, maybe it's a private gathering.

We have eaten both dinner and breakfast at Whispering Canyons, and really enjoyed it there. The food was great, there is PLENTY of ketchup, and as long as you don't expect a quiet meal, you are good to go!

Oh, and those bottomless milkshakes are great! You can even mix and match and try one of each!

We were not aware of the bottomless milkshakes.......HUMMMM, Seems like another trip there might just be necessary, LOL. We just love the place and really never need an excuse.

Whispering Canyon Cafe is really like a comedy improv show with your meal. It's great to read all your accounts and know a visit there is never the same twice. Will definitely try breakfast there next time. What a way to start the day at WDW! :D
