I know this has nothing to do with Tagrel, but thought I would get someone who knows a lot more than I do about this.
Does everyone have to pay for a subscription to live updates, or do you get it automatically if you buy a program in a box from a store? My subscription runs out tomorrow (came with the computer) & I'm wondering if I should re-subscribe for a year or go to the store & purchase it so I don't have to subscribe, if that's even an option. Just wondering.
They are offering me an option of upgrading to 2004 (I have 2003), but even that is only a 1 year subscription included.
Thanks!
Rhonda

Unfortunately even if you pay full price for the program in the store it comes with updates for only a limited time.

Alas, they'll get you one way or the other. :viking: <- inside every anti-virus program is an itty bitty virus exterminator...

I would compare what they are going to charge you to download from their site and what you can buy it in the store with rebates. I recently purchased a tax program and with rebates Norton 2004 was free. That seems to be what they are pushing right now.
I did notice for the first time that Norton 2004 required that you enter an coded activation number. I assume that is so people will not load it on more than one computer.

Norton allows you a period of free live updates when you buy their software, but at the end of that you need to subscribe to their service. I don't remember it being a big dollar thing, around $15, but the peace of mind knowing you have the latest in definitions and software I think is worth it.
