For all you crafters, I didn't even realize Plaid had this stuff, but it looks interesting. I get an email from plaid all the time and thought I would provide you with the link,

As well, my email said that

One Stroke painters from throughout the world are gearing up for their annual Super Education Convention, June 12-15 in Orlando, FL. Click here (http://www.plaidonline.com/articleDetail.asp?entry=article&articleID=371) for a preview.

Very interesting!

Is wood mounted bad? I know nothing about stamping.

No they aren't bad but the next generation of staps are this clear rubber material that is removable from an acrylic block that is also clear. It makes stamping so much easier because you can see through the stamps and the block.

It is also easier to store them because the stamp part stick to an acetate sheet like overhead projector page when it is not being used.

You can see a huge variety at closetomyheart.com but I'm also beginning to find them in the stores!

I have over 2000+ stamps that are wood-mounted and I'm out of room to store them :D

I met a woman at a scrapbooking weekend retreat who has taken all of her old woodmounted stamps, microwaved them to peel off the stamp and stores them in cd cases. When she wants to use one, she sticks it on an acrylic block. I'm thinking of trying it out since I've got a ton of wood mounted stamps but they take up so much room and I'm trying to get organized.

Oh I need to try that! It sure would save space!

Oh! WHAt a great idea! I haven't done much stamping for two reasons - out of space and I make a mess of it because of the inability to put the stamps where I want them. That might solve both my problems!

ok. Are there any specific instructions for how long and at what temperature to microwave the stamps to get the stamp part off the wood?
