Well, finally saw this movie today - I have to say it is an excellant movie with breathtaking scenary, great ship battles :duel: , wonderful acting and one of the sweetest,:birds: gentlest stories I have seen all year -- I know weird! But this really is a chick flick set within a war, high seas adventure! By the way there is just one scene with actresses in it and they are on camera about 45 seconds!

And before you think I am a Russel Crowe fan - I'm not - he is a great actor but until now I would not have put him on my "see everything he makes" list! He is now on that list! :D

Now after seeing all 5 movies up for best picture- and with PoC not among them - I will have to give a slight nod to Master and Commander over Mystic River. And now I will say the Lost in Translation is not even in the league of the other movies in this catagory and can't touch Master and Commander for great overall movie of the year.

BA,
Is this a chick flick that guys would enjoy since there is the war and all? A friend of mine just asked me if I wanted to hang out this weekend and I thought a good movie would be just the thing. But I want it to be a movie we'll both enjoy. Since he is just a friend, I can't drag him to just any movie I want to see.

I think guys will also love this movie - it has great action scenes, great battle plans and guy stuff!

Now I may be the only person in the world that thinks this is a chick flick!

No matter what you call it - it is just a fine movie and my pick for best picture of 2003!
