The Latest greenban rumors, VERY NICE, VERY EXCITING DVC RUMORS!!!

Dear Gentle Taginators:

I have (just off the phone) received a bunch of *NEW* Disney/DVC rumors from my top secret source, Deep Croaker. I have verified parts of these rumors with a second and sometimes third source, deep inside Disney. One of them *IS* a mousekeeper, and these are the same insiders who gave me my AKV scoops!

1) DVC Guides accidentally discovered completed CRV models at SSR. They were enroute to a AKV sales session, and entered the wrong doorway! Management is having a fit!

"Hey where are the leopard prints?" they thought. Then they realised this was Contemporary Resort Themed. This model was complete. When questioned, Deep Croaker, confirmed that the models exist, but have not yet been signed off by imagineering!

2) Same guides, in a panic, opened another door, and found partially constructede Brightly colored Models, perhaps Disney CA (Most likely) or Hawaii (more on Hawaii later).

3) DVC Management went on a 'search trip' to Hawaii very recently, to the big island. Several senior MS-Guides were asked if they would consider a one or two year assignment to a 'nice island'.

The first three rumors I consider very valid, as I could verify them with 3 sources, the following rumors are from Deep Croaker only, but he has not been wrong yet. However, I have no verification.

AKV Concierge will open AHEAD OF SCHEDULE (you all owe me, I wanted to keep this a secret so I could upgrade my family first), they should be open December 1st, 2007. There will be a special time in June, where AKV Owners, with existing ressies can upgrade their ressies. I may share the date, or keep it to myself......... June 13, 2007 ;)

Upper Level DVC Management want to have multiple properties to offer prospective DVCers, and as soon as possible. In the past, they had a better closing ratio (calls to sales) with multiple property offerings than single property offerings.

So, now I'll go out on a limb....

Expect an announcement in September/October or January, announcing sales at the Cali or CRV, or maybe (unlikely) Hawaii. Rumor (suprise) has it that another 'Friends & Family' referral style program will be announced at the same time!

Great rumors Tony! Have to LOL that these CRV model rooms weren't locked if they are so secret! :lol: Sometimes I think Disney works extra hard to get the rumors out there. All the buzz keeps things ...buzzing! ;)

Cool rumors Tony. Serves those DVC management types right for not locking those rooms. Of course all they need to do is check all the signature files on the various Disney boards with the CR DVC concept art to realize it's the worst kept secret at Disney.

I'm not sure they'd be announcing anything for California this soon. When I was at DL in 2005 I questioned some DVC CMs. They told me California law prohibits them from discussing it until at least a certain part completed. I'd have to dig up my old 2005 post to get the details.

Oooh! Always love a good rumour (especially ones that have teeth)! I know when I was just in Disney, I was speaking to "someone" that was telling me there was a LOT of new "property" DVC related projects coming!

The DLR DVC part of the rumor jives with what I found out in March at the DVC Headquarters at DLR. Originally there was a rumor that there would be 50 DVC units added to the Grand Californian Hotel. In March I was told by a reliable DVC source that they had "something bigger and better planned for a DVC at Disneyland". Since the GCH theaming is Craftsman Style dark wood interiors, A brightly colored model would indicate something else (Perhaps the long rumored resort theamed on the Hotel Del Coronado)

Great rumors. However, we can't have a CRV offered until later in 2008 or even 2009. I can't afford the add-on. Unless I can win a nice sum of money in the lottery between now and the announcement. ;)

Actually, that was another point my DW made after I added at AKL yesterday. What about CRV. I just said we could add there too. That is, if we can afford it...

Since the GH is designed similarly to the AKL they could be planning something similar there. That could allow the to fast track an announcement and selling points before ground breaking on a new building. Word of a major rehab at any DL hotel could be the first sign of an impending announcement.

It's interesting to see the trend, after SSR is to build up, and sprawling complexes.

We have the same dilemma...according to my source (who shared much of the same info with me as shared by Tony - CRV, Cali, concierge booking, except I did not hear "Hawaii"), the estimated announcement date for CRV is somewhere between 5-8 months max. This is the same source that told me about the Chicago sales office, accurate AKV info, price increases etc all well before announcements. Gotta do some serious planning here, 'cause it looks like that asbestos will finally be gone soon....:lol:

Please do, I have heard nothing. If something is announced soon at DLR, I would expect it at the press event on June 11th for the Finding Nemo Sub attraction.

Fuzzy brain that I have, I know it was about new construction at DL. Problem is we discussed DVC and a 3rd park.

This person has also heard the story of the mystery suites, but hadn't seen them himself. Since this person doesn't read online, that means the story is going around within Disney.

What I was hunting for are permits or variance requests Disney submitted to Orange County, CA. I couldn't find them. It was something about high requirements, and Disney needed permission to build higher than the norm. According to this person not only were they public documents but were mentioned in a Florida newspaper. So far I've had no luck. The closest thing was a mention by the current president of DL saying they will add a 3rd park, 'someday'.

I did find a lot of requests from DL to shoot off fireworks outside the normal schedule, but nothing on construction.

Being more awake today, I'll Google more. Hopefully there is 'something' out there. Anyone have ideas of where to look, feel free to try to hunt it down.

Found lots of zoning maps for Disneyland but no new documents filed.

I did come across a few references to major rehabs coming up at the Disneyland Hotel. It's seems they are building 'family suites', similarly themed to the Mickey Mouse Penthouse. .

I had posted 20 pics on my site yesterday of the construction (I had also done that the week before). It is moving quickly, I don't know why they haven't announced anything yet. But everything I have heard is that DL gets announced first.

Got my letter from DVC today about the AKV Conceirge and Value rooms being available Dec 1 :D Now just trying to decide if that in fact does anything for my vaca plans :confused:

I jumped off on the 4th floor (coming up from where Simba's Cubhouse is), and normally you can see up to the 5th there, but there is a black screen surrounding the upper railing. I think the oddest sight of all were all the security guards on every floor. I guess that means that they are hot and heavy into the renovations in the main house (as well as seeing lots of cleared space and drainage pipes waiting to be installed over on the side for the new AKV site).

Belle, you got a letter? How come I never seem to get those letters... you guys are my only conduit to information (or so it feels). Considering our stay at AKV starts 12/1, this could be awesome news!!

Hey Rhino Dad!

Starting June 13th for AKV Owners who already have a DVC vacation set for AKV, they can try and move their ressies to Value or Concierge depending on availability.

As an aside, I would assume, AKV owners without a ressie could try and book these rooms directly, or at least the Standard and Savanna views that become available.
