View Full Version : Hey Tag, now you need...Updated with critique
..a new bag to carry your camera. I found a Lowepro at our camera shop in town and I think it pretty much fills the bill. Here's a link to their web site; http://www.lowepro.com/Products/Sling_Bags/Designed_for_Digital/SlingShot_200_AW.aspx
The bag carries over the shoulder, and when you want to get a camera out, all you do is swing it around in front of you and unzip the main pouch. Pretty neat. Will be giving it a try on our trip.

I AM on the lookout for a new camera bag and that might just be perfect! Thanks for the link!
The hunt for a new bag is what led me to this one. The old bag was just too small to accomodate the new D-70 and the various lenses. This works really well for everything, including the flash and can even tuck the small Cannon in with it. That way the kids have a camera to work with too. I especially like the all weather cover that is incorporated into the bag.
Will let you know what I think when we get back.

The one thing that makes me nervous about some backpacks is the ability for someone to steal something out of it. (Too many years of city living and subway riding.)
Unlike most vacations, you spend a fair amount of time standing in queues. Would it be easy for someone to reach into one of these bags without you knowing?
Ok, I've been carrying the bag for the week and have an opinion; I love it! It makes it really easy to have everything I need with me, sits as a cross shoulder bag distributing the weight more evenly, and swings around so I can get to my camera in a heartbeat. I have not found any ride that I could not secure it on, from Everest to RnRC to ToT. All had no problems. When on the bus, I just swing it around to my lap and sit down. All in all, it has worked out exceptionally well for me.

Sounds good Joe!
And Robin, to help with your fear of something being stolen; you can move the zippers around such that there is no way anyone could mess with them without you knowing it.
