Does anyone do quilting? I am hoping to find a pattern for a quilted bag, similar to the Vera Bradley bags. Then I am hoping to find some Mickey fabric... I hope I'm not dreaming lol Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you,
Cheryl:confused:

I did quilting when I was in high school(many years ago)I haven't heard much about it since then but it seems to becoming more popular again in CT now. I hope you find what you are looking for.

Quilting is huge but I've not gotten into it yet. It is on my list of things to do :D

Oh my goodness! The last time I did quilting is when I got all of the Disney t-shirts from the all those WDW trips and made them into a t-shirt quilt.

I would love to see a photo of what you're planning to make if you're willing to post it.

Good luck!!

I machine quilt, but I've never made a bag. Lately, I've been knitting (I just learned two months ago).

Show us a photo of what you make!!

I would love to see a picture of it when you are finished, too. I just got my first Vera Bradley bag for Mother's Day and just love it. Good luck with your project!

I think I uploaded this right but my first bag is in the user gallery. There are a few mistakes but it was my very first attempt at quilting. I hope I can find more fabric as my mom already took this one lol.

Hi, I'm sorry I missed this thread somehow... but I quilt all the time, I'm actually a very prolific quilter and manage to finish between 10-25 lap quilts and baby quilts a year, this year for sure.

I was going to suggest that there is some really pretty pre-quilted material that would be a good start for a bag. I made one for my grandmother-in-law last Christmas, and there was coordinating fabric that I made the handles, pockets, etc. with, and I kinda flew by the seat of my pants.

I do make bags that I quilt before I turn them into bags, and I don't have a pattern, because the pattern I have bought was unbelievably complicated and as an experienced sewer, I couldn't figure it out:? ANd I'm hard to confuse! !!

I have probably 20 Vera BRadley bags or more, my MIL and SIL and I got hooked on them about 7 or 8 years ago and I have wayyyyy more than I need! But they keep coming out with such great patterns.....:D

If anyone needs quilting advice or help, please let me know, I would love to help! I've been quilting for probably 10 years, maybe, and I actually did make quilts for Rhinodad's girls:)

I often use Quiltshops.com (http://www.quiltshops.com/) for fabric and batting purposes. They search 210 on-line vendors. Click on "item search" and describe what you're looking for (like Disney, or "quilters dream"). That's how I stumbled on the Route 66 fabric for the back of my Cars quilt (http://tagrel.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22593).

Thanks for the tip, I haven't heard of it, and I'm surprised! I have a few online places I buy from like Hancocks of Paducah, the fat quarter Shop and the christmas Cloth Store online.... they are my faves by far!
