Hi guys!!!
I came up with a new drink recipe a few days ago and thought it might be nice to pop over for a visit and to post it. Not sure if my drinking buddies are still around - but this one is VERY nice!! (I assume hobbies is the right place for this? Mixology is definitely a hobby for me!)
2 parts mango rum
1 part orange liquor (eg. Cointreau)
2 parts orange/mango juice
juice of one lime (or more depending on how tart you like it)
Put it all in a shaker with ice, SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE!!!
Strain into a Mickey Mouse chickentail glass and enjoy!!

That sounds good dahling. The mango/orange flavor sounds like a really tasty drinkie. I had a martini in Rhode Island (when I was out visiting Ddoll) I wish I had the recipe for that. It was called a French Kiss and was really good.
How about a picture of Cara? I bet she's growing like a weed.

Cru, I found a few recipes for a French Kiss. I guess you're just going to have to try them all.
Absolute has 2:
3 parts ABSOLUT VODKA
2 parts Raspberry Liqueur
1 part Cacao Liqueur, White
1 part Cream
Shake with ice and strain to a chilled cocktail glass.
1 part ABSOLUT RASPBERRI
1 part Level Vodka
1 part Lemon Juice
1 part Simple Syrup
Strawberry
Shake with ice and strain to a cocktail glass filled with crushed ice.
From Drinkswap.com
1 oz Vodka
1/2 oz Grand Marnier
1 oz Raspberry Liqueur
1 oz Whipping Cream
Directions
Shake and strain into a champagne flute. Garnish with a speared cherry or raspberry, and serve.
I think those should keep you busy for a while. :shots:

Oh, those sounds very nice. I'll have to give them a whirl also. Life has been so stressful lately, I find that drink making helps calm the nerves.....or is that the drink "drinking" that's doing the calming....whichever, it's working!!
Cru - I'll post a picture of Cara shortly. Hope all is well with you. Tell ddoll I said hello. I miss all you guys! Life has calmed down a bit, so I hope to be around more.
THat sounds good! I'll have to get the recipe for my SIL's Hula girl drink. That one is good and potent!;)

I make a drink very similar to yours, kathi. I use 6 oz mango juice, two shots of pineapple rum, 1 shot of orange rum the juice of 1 key lime and shake with ice and strain into a martini glass with a maraschino cherry on the bottom. Then I put a small layer of grenadine on the bottom and a float of a good sippin rum (Zaya is my favorite) on the top.

Hmm, these sound like nice drinks for Mousefest in the party room.
Kathi, you would have been so proud of our AliciaG, she was bartender in Nashville for the CMM, had it all set up in the bathroom because there were so many people in the room, we had no where else to make the drinks. Anyways, she did an excellent job of making Lemon Drop Martini's, Chocolate Martini's and Alabama Slammers.

Kathi!!!!!
How the heck are you my foodie friend?
That drink sounds great. Especially since Mangos are an antioxidant. So it's good for you too!

 How'd I know this thread was started by you kathi? ;)
Here's one I plan on trying. I'm intrigued by the ingredients. It's called an Almond Joy.
1/2 oz. Malabu
1 oz. Ameretto
1 oz. White Creme de Cacao
2 oz. light cream
Fill mixing glass with ice, add Malibu, amaretto, creme de cacao, and cream. Shake, and strain into a highball glass filled with ice.

Nice post lol, that coming from an Irishman!!
Every year I have a big pool party on the 4th of July and usually have anywhere between 40-60 people. Doesn't seem like much but it is a lot. I usually provide hamburgs/hotdogs/ribs/chicken wings/ and maybe some steak. Others usually bring stuff like oneof my wife's uncles always brings a huge pot of corn on the cob and terriaki steaks on the stick and others bring everything too. One ofher cousins always brings crawfish and cooks them up in the kitchen cajun style (she did her masters in psy therapy at LSU lol) in a wok and stinks the place up. So I always have a specialty or house drink so you can get bombed if you want and believe me people do. One year I made these drinks like orange creamcicles, and last year I had green appletinis for everyone. I usually tend bar when off the grill. So this year I plan on making "Year of a Million Dreams" electric blue glowtinis. I have just bought a ton of blue glow plastic ice cubes and glow martini glasses. We will also have the usual jello shots and sometest tube shots lol. But for the TMD glowtinis here is the recipe:
Skyyy citris vodka
Peach schnapps
Blue Curacao
Sweet & sour mix
Pineapple juice
Sugar rim the martini or margherita glass
Put in blue glow ice cubes or use blue glow martini glasses
The measurements are up to you I make a lot at a time, in metal shakers and strain them into the glasses as I make them, so I do everything by eye. My wife had one of these at Disney on our trip and she hastold me she is looking forward tothe homemade version. if anyone is interested in getting the glow ice cubes or glasses let me know and I'll post up my bar supply site, they are pretty decent price wise and you can get whatever you want basically, same stuff as a bar would get.:boyears:
