quoted from Screamscape (http://www.screamscape.com/html/wdw_-_magic_kingdom.htm):

(5/2/07) The latest rumors about the Pirate themed restaurant confirm that it is being planned for the old Veranda restaurant site across from the Swiss Family Treehouse and the working name is Tortuga.

Going along with all the Pirate and Princess buzz this year, it seems Disney management has realized that while they have the Royal Court dining area in the castle to appeal to the Princess crowd, they need a good Pirate themed restaurant to lure in the boys.

First... they need to understand it's not just boys who aren't interested in Princesses and/or like Pirates. :banghead:

The restaurant they are talking about, has been closed for as long as I can remember. You've probably walked past it barely noticing it as anything other than a facade. The alcove where Jasmine and Aladdin normally appear is actually part of the restaurant. I didn't know it was there until 2 years ago when was used for the MVMCP photos.

It sounds like they are finally adding a character meal for boys... and Belle.

Here are a few choice rumors. Check out Screamscape (http://www.screamscape.com/html/walt_disney_world_resort.htm)for more including some changes go on offsite.

Epcot (http://www.screamscape.com/html/wdw_-_epcot.htm):

(4/18/07) Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Chip, Dale and Goofy will be arriving in a new character Meet & Greet spot inside Innoventions West starting in June. The characters will host five different cartoon themed areas that will represent the themes of: transportation, space, energy, land and communication.

I wonder if this means they have finally gutted the old CS restaurant that was a makeshift home to Character Connection. It sounds like they're adding some fun backdrops. I wonder if each character will be costumed accordingly?

Animal Kingdom (http://www.screamscape.com/html/wdw_-_animal_kingdom.htm):

(5/10/07) Remember those rumors from last summer ago about upgrading the Kilmanjaro Safari trucks to add an extra row of seats to increase capacity? It seems that half of the loading area is currently closed while they rework the queue to make room for the extra row.

The most interesting bit of news to me is offsite. There is a huge development coming to Palm Parkway. Rumor has it this will include "a plan to build a bridge over I-4 to connect Palm Parkway with the Premium Outlets Mall on the east side of the freeway. (http://www.screamscape.com/html/orlando.htm)" Current there is no cross over I-4 between Central Florida Parkway and 535 in Lake Buena Vista.

Here's the original article from the Orlando Business Journal (http://www.bizjournals.com/orlando/stories/2007/04/02/story3.html).

Anything boyish will be good. And Pirates! Can't go wrong there.

We'll just have to wait and see.
