Very cool. I know they have arrived at the LSS in Maine, but I don't want to pay full price, so I"m waiting for Michaels or AC Moore to have them.
The new stickers are in Michaels - very cute! They were on a website that was posted here a while back and i ordered a lot then.

If you go through Kim Slaymaker, kslaymaker@aol.com (slaymaker@aol.com), she sells them cheaper than the stores do. She lives near the Provo Craft factory and is an authorized dealer. You have to ask for her prices via email because Provo Craft does not allow her to advertise prices that low.

Carrie, do you know if she has lowered her prices since the beginning of March? When I emailed her back in March when you first mentioned it, the prices she quoted were higher than ACMoore and Michaels' when they are on sale at half price.

Also, just in case anyone here is a WalMart shopper, they are now also carrying crikcuts and cartridges in their craft and fabric departments! Very reasonable prices too.

I received my Cricut for Mother's Day and have been happily playing with it - I got the two Disney cartridges on E-bay, one has come already (the Mickey & Friends one with all the characters) and I am having a great time!
Remember when I posted that my DH went to all the Michael's around here when they ran an ad for the Cricut for $139.99? Well, he struck out everywhere and they would not give a raincheck. So he decided to go over to Walmart to see how much it was. He had the ad in his hand, since he had NO idea what I was talking about, and showed it to one of the clerks to help him locate the machine. The clerk let him know that Walmart, not to be undersold, would HONOR the Michael's price, so he ended up getting the machine for $40 off the Walmart price - gotta love it!
Sorry I didn't know this before; he just shared it with me after I opened my present. But keep your eyes peeled - if you find a better deal on something that Walmart carries, just bring in the ad and they will honor the price!
BTW, got both cartridges on E-bay for about $60 apiece - not a bad deal either - and Archiver's has the many of the cartridges for 25% off! I suppose this is because they've come out with a new-fangled version, but I don't care!:D

Kathleena, Our Michaels and Joann's do not put Cricut products on sale. Don't know if its a regional thing or what. I've noticed on the Cricut messageboards that some people can get discounts and some people can't, so it must depend on the area you live in. All the stores around here are not allowed to advertise specials or run coupons for Cricut products. It has something to do with their vendor agreement with Provo Craft.
As far as Kim Slaymaker goes, I haven't checked prices since back in January so I'm not sure how her prices are running now.
As Kristen mentioned, Hallmarkscrapbook is good for prices also. Just remember to add items to your cart in order to see the discounted price.

Our Hobby Lobby now has the Cricut products and they are at the same price as the lower priced online places!
I love it! I just made the cutest graduation card with Mickey face and a grad cap from another cartridge :D

Ok ladies - I've been holding out for a wishblade, but it doesn't look like that's every going to happen, $$$$. So ya'll have had your Cricuts for a few months now - how do you like them? Do you use them enough to justify the space they take - and the cost of the cartridges? Sell me, will you please?

Hey Linda -
I must admit - I really like my Cricut. Now, of course, they have come out with a new one that will hold a 12 inch wide sheet, so you can cut larger die cuts, but I like this one and the price was right. The Disney cartidges (font & character) are great and I really like the Walk In My Garden & Jasmine cartidges too. Mostly, I get the cartridges on e-bay for under $50.
Each cartridge comes with its own keypad and book, and the directions are pretty good. The cutting mats last quite a while and so do the blades. The whole machine actually is pretty small when all packed up, and when it's in use only the front part folds down. I have it on a small side table in my family room right now because my scrap room is such a mess, but after this weekend it will reside on a small table in there. It is pretty compact compared to some of the die cut machines.
If you want to see samples, I would be happy to send them.

I would LOVE to see samples. It is necessary to buy each Alphabet seperate, though, right? And, the photos of the Disney set show the characters in color, but . . . does it print too? or do they just come out "paper colored" and you have to color them in some manner?

Linda, I don't know if you noticed when you had it, but I did my page in Claire's book with my cricut. I also did someone else's page, just don't remember who. It doesn't have a printing option, it just cuts out. So everything is "paper colored." Although I heard Provo Craft was developing some sort of marker or pencil system that you could insert where the blades go. This would draw on your paper instead of cutting it. I haven't been on the cricut message boards in a while, so I don't know if they are on the market yet or not. Some people have taken small colored pencils or chubby markers and cut them down to fit in a cricut machine and have successfully drawn with them. But Provo Craft repeatedly says this voids the warranty if there is any evidence showing you used them in a manor they weren't intended for.
My friend Gina has a big scrapbooking room in her house. So I have my cricut and all of my scrapbook supplies there. I don't use it much because I have to go to her house to use it. But when I do, we usually take an entire afternoon and can pump out quite a few pages in that time. She uses it a lot more than I do. I would use it a lot more if I had more time to do more scrapbook pages. So yes, its worth it. I just wish I had more time to use it. The scrapbook pages I make using my cricut end up looking a lot nicer than the pages I make without it. A friend of mine had a baby and I made her a baby girl themed scrapbook using my cricut where all she has to do is add her pictures and journaling. I have pictures of the pages, which I'll try to get posted soon.

And, the photos of the Disney set show the characters in color
To make an image different colors, it cuts things out in pieces and you layer them. Example, for a butterfly I cut out the wings in one color, the middle part in one color, the eyes in another color, etc. When they're layered and pasted in a book you get a multi colored butterfly that looks like you spent good money on. You can make some real creative things if you have the time to devote to it. The key to the different colors is layering after they're all cut out. Everything doesn't come out in one piece. Depending on how you layer things, you can also give it a 3-D effect.

I like using mine, but find I don't use it as much as I should. It has been a bit of a challenge sometimes learning how best to set the speed/pressure with the size/font and paper thickness. I have ruined a lot of stuff and that part has been frustrating.
Like Jasmine in the 1" size doesn't work well at all with Bazzill cardstock. Not sure about a larger size as I didn't try it. I think that font is better if you use the lightweight paper.
I have found that when I work on an album that is coordinated (eg I'm using the same color cardstock combinations all through) that it is easier to do several pages and then cut out all the accents and titles at the same time.
I like the fonts and I like being able to have the variety. I doubt I would ever do the intricate die cuts as it just takes too much for me to cut cut cut all the different parts and colors. I would rather use the time for something else.
I buy cartridges at AC Moore ONLY when they are 50% off, like last week I got the Mickey font cartridge for $45. Otherwise - only on eBay. I bought two other of the new fonts on eBay (alphalicious and fabulous finds) for $40 and $36 respectively. The Mickey font is more than $45 on eBay last I looked.
I tend to like to be a time saver, so my thoughts would probably be relevant to other folks who find they often think "this could be more efficient"!
