Since we're on the "Help Me" train, how about helping me and DH LOVE MGM without us going on any thrill rides (TOT).

We usually only spend part of the day there and DH gets bored.

Any clues?

Last trip we spent even less time with the streets closed off and being renovated. Also, was looking forward to Osborne lights and there were none. Did the movie ride, Muppets (again). Tried to step on right spot and hold onto umbrella but that wasn't working either. DID enjoy lunch at Mama Melrose and the food was excellent. Did some shopping and that was it.

Any suggestions?

My favorite part about this park is walking down the main street. I feel like Im a movie start walking in. I do love the thrill rides but since that is out lets see what else.

The Great Movie Ride is a favorite for me. I love nostolgia!! And I think my favorite is the Wizard of Oz room and the ending Movie you see.

I got to do the back stage tour in a new light on my last tour. We was firt in line and was asked to be the acting extras in the water scene. Talk about a lot of fun!! My husband and I got a bit wet and laughed and had so much fun. He was the one in teh shed who had all the water come down on him and I was on the ship stearing the wheel. I ducked pretty fast and didnt get as wet as he did.

I love prime time 50's but you have to go in expecting to be teased and have fun. It was way more fun the time I went with my teenagers because one of them didnt finish her food/dessert actually. It made a fun video. If you start out teasing with the waiter/waitress you get a lot more dished back at you.

To me MGM is more of a half day at a time park but I can do multiple half days there. I usually love the roller coaster best so its a must do many times.

Now we are to my favorite WDW park! :joyDance:

I love the thrill rides but there is plenty to do without stepping foot on even one of them

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire -Play it - can be a whole day affair if you so choose. The attraction is fully interactive with eaveryone getting to play. It is very entertaining and fun to play whether you are touring as a solo or part of a larger group.

Walt Disney's - One Man's Dream is a must do for me. There is so much packed into this attraction that I could see it every day of a trip without getting tired of it. Also - the movie at the end leaves me feeling that anything is possible, and just a little misty eyed!

Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, Fantasmic, and Indy Show are all worth the time to see

The street performers are not to be missed. Laughter, and how did they do that are always heard from the crowd.

Now the food options are part of the entertainment to me -- Prime Time is gentle teasing at its best for us - food good, and with the right CM a blast.

I enjoy the Brown Derby - from the very fine chopped Coob Salad to soup to entrees to the Grapefruit Cake all is fine by me!

Then there are the characters -- you can see characters here that are not found everywhere else - of course Mickey and friends are here - but so are Mike and Sully, Mulan in battle armour, Mary Poppins and Bert, the Pengiuns and lots of favorites

I have not mentioned the Animation Studio because it seems to be a thing of the past but if it is not - then I love this tour.

The cars and stars (or whatever they call it) Parade is very different to me than other parades - the running dialoge by the "announcers" makes this seem more one on one!

So you can see why I spend more time at Disney/MGM Studio Park than the others -- I also love the thrill rides!

Hope this helps Cinderella! Maybe one day I can play tour guide for you!

MGM is a great park for just taking it all in. My DD and I discovered something really fun and relaxing this last trip. We got a snack at Rosie's All American Cafe (at least I think that is what it is called) and listened to all the screaming from the ToT. It was so funny. We just kept cracking up as we mocked them. LOL

Then there is Indiana Jones. That man can sure crack a whip! :winking:

Who Wants to be Millionaire. I did the best I've ever done this last trip. Thanks to a certain WillCAD. I came in 2nd one time! :creator:

Voyage of the Little Mermaid. The music alone brings a smile to my face and I love all the lasers that make me feel under the sea.

Walt: One man's dream. A fantastic tribute to Walt!

Some of the best shopping on property!

I agree Disney/ MGM is a love it or leave it type of park (my feelings about AK also). I love the mystic of Hollywood and I love thrill ride and MGM has the best (IMHO) if all the parks. I also love the Great Movie Ride, Back Lots tour (someday I want to be the one to get wet), Muppets, I even like the Drew Carey show!! I wish I could get some really good tour that would let me play with the sound and picture equipment. We thought we were doing that with GS in the education tour last year and were very disappointed!!
Hurray for Hollywood!!

Cionderella,

First of all, if it all works out right and I get to be there next December, we send Ronnie out to get a snack and you are going on TOT and RnRC!

My family does like the shows at MGM. I think the Beauty and the Beast show is excellent, as well as the Indiana Jones show. We also enjoyed the Sound show with Drew Carey.

Prime Time is a must for us. Not only entertaining, but also good food.

We don't consider Star Wars a wild ride, so that might work. It can get a little jerky, but not bad.

I also love to wonder areound each and every store, taking my time to look at everything. A shoppers dream!

Yup! Sorry, I'm a 'leave it' with MGM. I used to enjoy everything, but since the only newer ride attractions were RnRC and ToT - and I'm not a coaster/thrill kind of girl - all the rest of MGM is now boring. Same old stuff. Indiana Jones WAS fun, but it hasn't changed since the park opened. It would be great if we could get the Indiana Jones ride they have at DL!

Thanks guys for all the input. We have done Prime Time many times - always get a good laugh. Have done Brown Derby and Mama Melrose and got great food in each. Saw Indiana Jones but it seems to be the same with no changes from trip to trip. One hot August day we saw Drew Carry twice just to get out of the heat and DH hated it.... to much darkness.....not enough laughs for him.
I finally made it to Star Wars two trips ago (with my wristbands) and had a great time- no motion sickness. LOVE the Movie Ride and have gotten the same one every time we go. Did not do the back lot tour in a few years so that's a good one to try. Have not done Millionaire yet so I can try to plan for that next December.

BetsyAnn: If you'll be there this December, I'll pay you to be our tour guide for MGM!!! You made Walt Disney's - One Man's Dream sound like a must do. Don't know how I've always passed that one up. Have not ever seen Fantasmic due to weather or running out of steam but that's another must-do this December.

Cheri: Have to add Voyage of the Little Mermaid to 'must-see's also. I agree about the shopping and discovered just how much I loved the shopping there when my Disney Visa bill came!!!!!

Sheryl: I like your suggestion of sending Ronnie out for snacks and trying TOT and RnRC - maybe! I'm not great with motion sickness rides (and neither is anyone else sitting near me)

Thanks again and I guess I'll study up in some of my hundreds of Disney books and add more time to MGM.
