Silly Question Maybe....

but I have to ask. How is the site name, Tagrel, pronounced? Is it TAG-rel (as in tag your it, emphisis on the tag) or ta-GREL (as in ta da, emphasis on the grel)? Or what?

Depends who you ask. Tagrel himself says it ta-GREL (at least when I heard it) but 90% of the members I hear say TAG-rel. Who are you going to believe the person who made it up or the majority. :lol: I say it TAG-rel and every time I hear it the other way it sounds weird to me.

Thanks Dave and please forgive me for talking about the site name and completely ignoring the fact that it is your screen name. I feel pretty silly about how I posed the question..... doh!

Yeah.... Using my screenname for the site name was an unfortunate lack of forward thinking... :peri:

I used Tagrel for the site name because it was unique and available as well as short and anyone searching on my screen name would find it. I originally planned for the site to just be a place to house family trip reports, pictures, etc. Adding the forum came along just because it was an easy addon with the original ISP. :yes:

At one point a couple years ago I thought seriously of changing the name, but I was fought on it by my mods and others. We love all the 'Tag' references like Taginators, Tag Team, and everything else that sort of spun off from that. So, the name has stuck, and I just get to explain it fairly often. ;) AND be a bit embarrased that the site is also my screen name! :oops:

Thanks for asking the question! I was wondering how it was pronounced as well. After I heard one of BigBrian-NC podcasts and he pronounced it as Ta-GREL I wondered. I has always thought it was TAG-rel.

I wouldn't feel funny that your name is the same as the site name. It's great! I never thought it was odd at all.
